"The hotel itself is nice, the staff pleasant and the breakfast although not a lavish affair filled us up all day. There was always a queue for the waffle machine which was a nice touch.
The room was large and comfortable with a safe too.
There was also a small gym to get a sweat on before breakfast.
The main downside was getting to the hotel using public transport which means going through the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd St. That was the only place in Manhattan we felt unsafe. Always double check the buses actually go to 31st/JFK boulevard because not all do, we spent plenty of time walking around that dark hellhole because we'd been steered the wrong way. There's also a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel but there's an Aldi on the way to have a pitstop.
All in all a pleasant experience but maybe an Uber/Lyft subscription would be an idea"
