Loved the property, its location by the sea its personel and owners. The restaurant with italian food. Service great, special mention Colin in the receprion, Joy in the restaurant and Leila who cleaned my room. Did not like the floors in the bathroom as very alippery when wet.

Geo Zanzibar Resort has very friendly staff all around. The hotel isn't a 5 star one ( nor does it claim to be). We were there for breakfast and dinner only since we were in excursions every single day of our stay. The restaurant is excellent!!! The A/C could not keep the room cold because of the unreliable power in Zanzibar. That was the only thing that I didn't like which there was nothing that could be done. They did provide a fan that helped a lot during the night. During the day it does get hot, but since we were not there (except for our last day), it didn't matter. They were very kind and allowed us for a late check out. The staff is treated very nicely by the owners. We had a nice stay overall.

The Marea (formerly the Geo) is a gem

I did lots of research for my family's trip to Zanzibar because there did not seem to be a lot of accurate information online. I felt comfortable with my reservation at the Marea (fka Geo) and it turned out I was right. From the owners (who may be there to greet you) to the hospitality, and dining options were perfect for a middle class family from the West Coast. The room is basic but comfy enough. You can ask for extra pillows. The besds have sheets but no blankets. This encourages you not to blast AC all night long. Also: the beach. I heard mixed answers about the quality of the beach in Jambiani. Well, I can tell you the beach right in front of the hotel is perfect white sand. The water is not clear. There's some (not a lot for us) seasweed. Maybe it's not as good as Kendwa and Nungwi. But there were almost no beach boys. And the ones who were there accepted a no after the third time. My family had the beach all to ourselves each morning. That's never really happened to us before! Don't miss out on a walk to the village. The people are super nice. Bring something to MOVE Zanzibar to donate to the kids it benefits.

Fantastic on-site restaurant with a wonderful breakfast which is included and an excellent dinner menu. The pizza is authentic Napolitana pizza! Scrumptious! Rooms are nice. Balcony looks out over the gorgeous beach. 2 beds in our room - one had a big dip in the middle and the other was perfect. Bathroom was nice and large. A/C worked. There were holes in the mosquito screen and gaps between the screen and the window so opening the window was not an option. Lovely pool so you could swim even when the tide was out. Limited beach chairs so need to get out early to claim your spot! Very close to the bar on the pier which I highly recommend for happy hour drinks! The Vietnamese restaurant next door is also excellent. A VERY long beach and easy walking as you turn right out of the hotel property. Excellent option for coffee and lunch just down the beach at the Coffee house. Great location, walking distance to so many wonderful other eating options although you don't really need to leave. Final excellent option is being able to book your airport transportation through the hotel! Would definitely come back.

Hôtel bien placé, restaurant italien excellent, accueil chaleureux du réceptionniste mais hôtel sans charme particulier et cher! Tout est fait pour vous inciter à dépenser des sommes astronomiques pour des services qui nous ont été facturés dans d autres établissements deux fois moins chers. (Excursions, service blanchisserie, suppléments au petit déjeuner) De plus l équipe du restaurant ne semble pas épanouie et l accueil y est désagréable. Il y a eu beaucoup de coupures d électricité durant la nuit et lorsque le groupe électrogène a pris le relais, nous avons été systématiquement réveillés. Bref le rapport qualité prix du Marea Boutique Hôtel est le plus décevant des 6 hôtels visités à Zanzibar.

Rapport qualité prix médiocre

Personnels très sympathique et très accueillant. Le point négatifs est plutôt du côté des propriétaires qui ne daigne même pas dire bonjour. Certainement un gros problème d'éducation. Au niveau du restaurant, le petit-déjeuner est très bien, quand aux repas cela s'arrête au pizza et pasta.... Heureusement qu'il y a d'autres restaurants moins chers ou l'ont peut manger local juste à côté.

Ottima gestione e posizione. Staff perfetto (molti parlano italiano) e sempre attento alle nostre esigenze, ottimo ristorante con la miglior pizza mai mangiata all'estero ( la clientela dei resort vicini veniva spesso al ristorante proprio per questo motivo ). Ottimo rapporto qualita' / prezzo e decisamente una struttura che intendo segnalare positivamente per chi volesse soggiornare sulla spiaggia di Jambiani.

New years holidays

We stayed in the hotel for 2 week during new years holidays. Main purpose was kiting but we got no luck with wind conditions, however the beach is good place for kite in the middle and high tide. Kite school around the corner.  Conditions in hotel is good for its price, A \ C, shower, breakfast and right on the beach. There were some power breaks out but there is generator and we barely notice them. Especially want to mention host - Suleiman. He literally do everything to make guests comfortable.

We hadden een goed en prettig verblijf bij GEO. We werden goed begrepen door het personeel. Alles is wel aanwezig om van de vrijheid/vakantie te genieten. De locatie is top, direct aan het strand!
