Ventana Bay Resort

Stella Maris
6/10 Okay
"I understand this is a fairly new establishment, as mentioned by the staff, and there’s definitely potential here. That said, there were several areas where the room experience could be improved.
Our room felt quite minimal, with only a bed and a sofa bed.there were no tables, chairs, or additional seating, which made it less comfortable for relaxing. The window shades also didn’t block out much light, unlike the rooms on the upper floors that have proper blackout curtains, which made a noticeable difference.
The placement of electrical outlets throughout the room seemed a bit random and could benefit from more thoughtful planning. While décor isn’t everything, the space felt like it was missing a sense of warmth and intentional design.
The marble floors, while, were quite slippery, especially when coming in from the pool or shower, so that’s something to be mindful of for guest safety. Additionally, the room did not include a refrigerator or basic items like drinking glasses. While I’m sure the staff would have provided these upon request, having these essentials readily available in the room would greatly improve the overall experience.
Given how new the property is,it almost felt like the room may not have been fully ready for guests yet. For the price, I didn’t feel the accommodations quite matched the value.
That said, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly eager to make guests feel welcome, which I really appreciated. I would consider a different room"

Azul Beach Kite Resort
10/10 Excellent
"This brand new hotel is right on the beach with a kite rental shop on the ground floor! The rooms are really well done with quality materials (headboard, doors, etc.) a fridge, closet space, comfortable beds, large bathroom and porches that offer great views of the Sea of Cortez and Ventana Bay. The layout of the hotel is really neat with nooks and hidden patios on various levels that offer both sun and shade.
Having a restaurant ready to serve when you come off the water for a drink, late lunch or supper is a real plus. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly and looking to make your kite vacation an event to remember!
We had a great time and the kite shop got my son up and kite boarding (downwinder to La Tuna beach) within 6 hours of lessons. "

Hotel Todo Bien
10/10 Excellent
"I am almost reluctant to post this 5 star review in case it becomes so popular we can’t get in here again:) We loved this place so much. Gorgeous property. The staff were beyond good. They went above and beyond to make our stay remarkable."

Mística Boutique Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic stay! The hotel is so charming and quaint. Rooms were very comfortable and considering it is 100% solar powered is amazing. There is a small ranch beside the rooms and views here are breathtaking. Would highly recommend! "

Palapas Ventana
2/10 Terrible
"The room was marginal. the sheets felt like sandpaper and the bed was as hard as the floor. There was no water pressure in the shower, the hot water was hit or miss and if it was a hit you had about 5 minutes of it. The towels were in very poor shape and looked like they hadn’t been replaced in years. The bath mats and mats in the bedroom were mismatched in the condition of rags. The lights browned out constantly. There is no TV in the room- fine except there is also no WiFi. The high speed WiFi is a farce. WiFi was available at the restaurant if you wanted to do anything you had to walk down there- it was in no such way high speed as advertised. The hot tub they do not keep hot. I was told to turn it on 3 times before you want to get in it, well an hour later still wasn’t even warm. They advertise all of these activities, they fail to mention 80% of them are not in town and they will charge you several hundred dollars for transport, it’s false advertising that they show them all on their site with no such warning. The activity director didn’t even know they had bikes for use so we spent several hundred dollars to rent some across the street. Their snorkel, SUP boards and kite launch was really run down, old and not taken care of at all. The kite launch has no support, the air compressor is broken. Food was marginal and it was a crap shoot what you got for a drink depending on who made it. We did mention the above to staff, owner Tim wouldn’t even make eye contact with us. "
