The best things about this property are the location (central to the city), the outside of the hotel (very modern), and the lobby (updated and beautiful). It goes downhill from there. As soon as we step out from the elevator, we notice the dingy, dirty, and ripped carpet. That should have been a warning to how our room would be. We booked the junior suite, which was supposed to be luxurious and beautiful. I will say, I'm sure it felt that way 20 year ago. But it's clear the room was not maintained. The carpets were dirty, the pillows ripped up and destroyed, the curtains had what looked like burn marks in them. Furniture overall was just so dated and worn. Then we get into the bathroom. The light over the tub didn't work. The hairdryer was an antique that had all the power of a 3rd grader blowing from a straw. The tiles were cracked in some places. And worst of all, the shower had a significant leak. We unfortunately found this out the first night as we slipped and nearly fell from the ensuing puddle of water.
The breakfast had lots of options but nothing was spectacular. We stayed for a week but grew tired of the selection by day 2. Staff are very, very slow to respond to requests if they even respond at all. There was a major miscommunication where we were being charged for a snack from the minibar that was not even used. The manager was refusing to waive the fee, and was attempting to guilt trip us by saying then he'll need to charge the front desk attendant.
