The tipi was very nice and beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms and showers were terrible. The bathrooms were full and needed to be emptied. The showered were better but had no hot water
Beds were super comfy. We stayed in tipi. It was very cute....lots of room and was warm. Only problems we had were when it rained it went under the door way and got floor boards and anything by it wet and shower water was inconsistent...one time it was warm another it was ice cold. I was the only one in there at the time. Staff was really nice and helpful. We had a great time and would stay again.
THE BEST BEDS! Also SO fun instead of a basic hotel. Even in pouring rain, thunder & lightening our family was comfy & cozy!
Thoughtful camp amenities for cooking, good fire pit area and complete with hammocks and things to climb/play on for the kids. While the showers were down, they brought in the comfort bathrooms/shower trailers.
Great and fun stay that was incredibly comfortable! We would definitely pick this next time we are in town.
Super fun and cute vibe. The nightly community bonfire was a nice touch, and the tipi/grounds in general were as clean as you could expect. We stayed in 5 different places during this trip and Starlight Retreat was the favorite of my children - we will likely return again in the future when able.
Our stay at Starlight Retreat—it was hands down one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a peaceful vibe that instantly made us feel at home.
The Tent We stayed in one of the Safari Tents, and wow—this was not camping. It was luxury in the woods. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I slept better than I do at home), and the decor was rustic yet stylish. We had electricity, cozy lighting, and even a little sitting area to enjoy our morning coffee.
The Setting The location is unreal. You’re surrounded by pine trees and open skies, and at night, the stars are breathtaking. We watched the Milky Way stretch across the sky—no light pollution, just pure magic.
The People The staff were amazing. And the bathrooms…definitely not what I expected! Much better! Felt like I was in a normal restroom!
Final Thoughts If you’re looking for a place that blends nature, comfort, and genuine hospitality, this is it. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning our next trip back. Starlight Retreat isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to reconnect with nature and yourself.
Wonderful property and staff. Instructions and directions were clear. Property was easy to find and in great location at a terrific price. Within 20 minutes of Yellowstone, restuarants, and shops. Safari tent was nice with comfortable beds and bedding. Nights were chilly but plenty of blankets were provided that kept us perfectly warm. Staff is friendly and helpful and work hard to keep the property in great condition. Bathrooms were clean and stocked and plenty of towels provided. Loved our stay, would definitely stay again when back in the area.
What a great experience! Bed was so comfortable and there was plenty of blankets to keep us warm all night!
The firepit was cool! Being able to meet other people was awesome!
Thank you!
Nice property, clean tipi , good bathrooms, showers weak water pressure - but clean
Would be nice if would be private campfire pit
Far from main road but still loud/all day and night - you will hear cars
Maddie was very welcoming at check in, she made sure we got bear spray, (just incasd) and
Towels to shower with. The nught was peaceful and the stars were amazing! We loved the mountain air. The morning we left. BLAKE got my attention and showed me aome moose, and he let me get my daughter so she could see them, sleeping not to far away from our yurt!
If you love sleeping under the stars, i recommend this place.
The room itself was cute, but that’s where it ends.
They had a portable bathroom/shower facility that offered 3 showers with toilets & one with a toilet, no shower. They gave you one towel & asked you to reuse it. You had to walk down a dusty path to get there so the floors in the bathrooms were always muddy. There were not enough to accommodate the amount of guests. People were always waiting outside for someone else to come out.
As for the water in the showers, you may or may not have any hot water or no water at all.
We were scheduled to stay for 5 days.. we only made it 2 and found a more accommodating place.
Since leaving, they have opened their new bathhouses that have more space for guests & are up to date.

It was a nice experience. The staff are friendly and reliable. However, who ever decided to install the bathroom mirror all the way up so no one can see their faces needs a pay cut. The actual Tipi is clean and they provided adequate blanket/ comforter for the freezing weather in the morning. Overall the experience is unique and I would still recommend this place.
Nothing else to say except: book this place for your next trip to the National Park and you won’t regret it! The best experience of my life!!!
Thank you so much❤️
We loved the tipi. The beds were so comfortable, check in was super easy. The roads could be improved, we had a mini-van and driving to and from our site was tough, trying to avoid all the potholes.
I loved this staying here! We had our 8 month old with us and we were able to get the feeling of camping with the convenience of having a safe indoor area for her. And I loved that even though we were out and away from everything, it was still only a 10 minute drive to the store! It was perfect!
