「The staff were nice enough , but the spa amenities are quite bad. The photos online do not do it justice. The only facilities that are nice are the ones that are brand new and not included. The steam room was full of mold and not functioning well. The pool Is in need of some upkeep. The hot tub was the only amenity we enjoyed.」

「Great hotel, great staff, great food, and really great golf. Stayed at The Machrie for my 60th Birthday, mainly to play the golf course, but also as a base to explore Islay. We’ve stayed in many hotels - this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. My wife suffers from Coeliac Disease so has to have a strict gluten free diet. 「I was very disappointed with the facilities provided by the hotel to its paid guests. Occupants were not allowed to use the sauna and needed to book well in advance, and it's closed at 5pm, and if you are free in the evening, you don't have access to it. Also, it only allows you a 30-minute slot.」
