"This was our first time in Barbados and we chose to stay at Hotel Le Roy from reviews on Hotel.com and Trip Advisor but also for its facilities and location.
St Lawrence Gap is a vibrant area full of good quality bars and particularly good quality restaurants.
In addition it's ideally located to reach anywhere in the island easily either by taxi or public transport.
Hotel Le Roy was refurbished in the last year or so by current owners and it's been done to a high standard.
The (Brucan) restaurant is within the hotel and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The food quality is of high standard as is the service. The hotel also has a great bar that offers a big selection of spirits including rum of course and also a nice range of beers. The bar has a happy hour twice a day.
The real gem of the hotel is that it’s sat directly on Dover Beach, a stunning white sandy beach with free sun loungers and umbrellas. Shout out to all of the bar and restaurant staff, fabulous service. A big thank you to Richard ( Restaurant mgr.) and Phil (the concierge) always around to help and give info of the area when needed.
The room was very well air conditioned which is of course essential and had a comfy bed and loads of wardrobe and draw space. A nice spacious walk in shower and balcony overlooking the sea was a big bonus.
Finally the reception staff were very professional and always able to help with our travel queries.
We had a lovely experience and restful holiday at Hotel Le Roy. 5 stars!"
Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"Our 4-day all-inclusive stay at the Wyndham Grand Barbados from Friday to Monday was truly an amazing experience. I celebrated my birthday weekend there and overall had a fantastic time. The amenities were excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the drinks were amazing throughout our stay.
A special highlight was our couples massage at Island Essence Spa, which was absolutely incredible and one of the best parts of the trip. The Castle View Restaurant was also my personal favorite. The food, ambiance, and overall dining experience there really stood out.
The staff were warm, professional, and accommodating overall, although there were one or two team members who seemed a bit less willing to go the extra mile compared to the others. Room cleaning was also slightly delayed each time we called, but the rooms were always well kept once serviced.
Despite those minor issues, we had a wonderful birthday getaway and would definitely recommend Wyndham Grand Barbados to anyone looking for a relaxing all-inclusive experience."
"The hotel was a underwhelming. No AC in the lobby or dining room, made it uncomfortable during meals. Food selection was terrible. Everything was deep fried from breakfast to dinners and everything in-between. Most of the staff in the dining room were too busy socializing with each other than to pay any attention to the guests walking in and some staff seemed bothered when you requested something of them. A better job should be done training staff to be more customer centric."
"I literally loved this place, all the staff here were phenomenal, if you want real life people with great connections and conversations and princess treatment, COME HERE, thanks to Kay and Trey!!!❤️ they made my time here a blast"
"The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. Breakfast buffet can use some improvement I would only recommend the first morning only.ocean view is beautiful!"
"We arrived on a Wednesday and check in was fast, the front desk staff was friendly. The TikTok video set an expectation of rum punch being served very differently than the real experience, lol we were handed two little bottles of rum punch, but it was fine, just don’t want anyone to experience something different. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful ocean front view. I do not recommend Water Edge bar/restaurant by the pool, food was cold, service was not friendly we went twice, bad both times. Terrace buffet was wonderful, we wanted the outside experience but the hungry & curious birds took over, we went back inside to enjoy our meal and conversation. The Grille was wonderful great food and service. PLEASE ask for Dianna when you need transportation, she is amazing, very personable and knowledgeable of everything, she felt like family we wanted to stay more days just to spend time with her. Overall I loved the experience and if I’m ever in Barbados again I will stay at the Hilton Resort and will only use Dianna for our transportation."
The Club, Barbados Resort & Spa Adults Only - All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"this was our fifth visit to barbados and i really did enjoy staying here! I would say it’s a solid 3.5 experience. the food is good/okay! for the price, i would say TOTALLY worth it. the location is awesome, walking distance into holetown and awesome swimming right off the resort. definitely not like top tier luxury living (we usually stay in private villas) but this was solid!"
