10/10 Travelling family with one small child. This hotel is excellent for everything,however please be aware this is in a PUBLIC area. This means no swim-wear allowed. There is no Bikini Beach area as it is under construction at the time of our stay. The beach is very dirty. I wish it would be cleaned more often. This hotel must only be visited in conjunction with trips to other islands to get the true Maldeves experience.

I had the most horrible experience at this place!!! Hugely priced!!! Better options nearby! No room is near the beach even though they boost "beachfront" in the description. Indeed, "beach view" is NOT "beachfront". I was robbed of an entire weekend, having to deal with unscrupulous and non-cooperating staff who would tell different stories ("lies") about their manager being unavailable!! Know that if you ever have a legitimate issue with their hotel, you will NEVER be able to speak with the manager. They just take your money and don't care about your experience as a customer. First, they wouldn't agree to offer a partial refund after I decided to cancel my booking upon arrival and finding out that their room was in no way quiet (in middle of downtown) nor beachfront. The partial refund was right under expedia rules BUT they kept me for 5 hours before agreeing to it. Up until now, 1 week later, they still haven't processed anything and the total charge appears on my card. I escalated the issue to expedia which is also extremely poor in handling the situation!!! Now I am left with a deficit of cad 400, a totally ruined weekend plan, and additional costs bared to return to my original place of stay. I have told them they should now process a TOTAL refund based on the circumstances! Such an awful experience shouldn't occur to people when there is clearly misleading information on the hotel room description and total lack of understanding of expedia rules from hotel staff!

The location of the hotel and the decor of the hotel as well as cleanliness is very good. If my room was a Deluxe Std. Rm, I wonder how a Std. Rm. could be on a lower level of quality. I don't think my rm. was really a Deluxe rm. That being said, the decor and amenities of the room are good. The staff are very friendly. Upon check-in, it had been stated that we prob. would be upgraded to a dif. rm. since we were staying more than one night, but that never happened, even when we inquired again. Breakfast was only served on the beach on the last of our 3 mornings; that was disappointing. Only a breakfast buffet on that day. Food was not a high quality; definitely disagree with other comment that said it was 5 * meals--not so at all.

The people there were very nice and friendly. Our room was cleaned every day and the place as a whole was great and located by the beach and around a lot restaurants. We stayed here for three nights on our way to another island. This is perfect for a small like stop over before going somewhere else. The thing about Male is it’s very conservative and there isn’t much to do but that’s not Island Beach Houses fault. They treated us very well and we appreciated their services :)

The room is extremely small for the price we paid, and wasn’t tally with what I saw from website, glad that the staff willing change to a slightly bigger room after we feedback. I am not sure if this a 4 stars accommodation, no tooth brush set, tissue provided and WiFi is unstable..I thought this is rather basic for a 4 stars rating. Nothing much nearby, mainly just for stopover..

BEAUTIFUL RELAXING ISLAND, OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
It’s like a hidden Oasis, sun, sand and warm crystal blue sea to swim. Paddle boarding, kayaks, banana boat and JetSki’s are available.. Island Beach House has a great beach hut to have breakfast, lunch or dinner on the foreshore - with a lovely breeze to keeps you cool, with a good book to read.. Nasha, Firu and Laya arranged a surprise Romantic dinner on the beach front.. lovely memories.. Nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel very welcome and valued.. Nexr year we will be back to stay in a ocean view room for one month.. Thanks to Nasha, Firu and Laya for a wonderful getaway

Great location - handy to airport and beach
I chose this hotel because I was visiting Male on business focused on the airport and did not want the hassle of taking 2x suitcases via water taxi to the main island/city of Male. (This aspect of visiting Male has just been removed by the opening of a road bridge across the harbour!). The hotel is in a great location if you are in transit for a day or two or you have business at the airport. Also, if you are not on a 'resort vacation' but do want to have access to the water and to exploring the various islands by means of the daily hire of locals with boats, then this hotel is superb. Clean, very friendly, on a quiet street and at the edge of the ocean (a small lagoon sheltered by a reef). Note: this is not a 'swimming' beach as the water is only knee-deep. Wi-Fi was free but reception was often very slow - apparently, this is to be fixed. Easy access to bus transportation. The whole area is very easy to walk around ad there are small supermarkets/corner stores within a 5-minute walk. Thoroughly recommended!

If you have to stay near the airport on your way to a Maldive Resort then this is a very nice place to stay for the night. The staff are very friendly and helpful their food is good and the room is clean and comfortable and they even served cocktails and canapes for inhouse guests on the beach at sunset. I would recommend this place

Just like home
The room was very clean. The food was delicious. The staffs were very caring and friendly. I was down with cough, flu and clogged ears during my stay in Island Beach House. The staffs made honey lemon and ginger tea for me every morning and night. We shared about experience in Maldives like friends.

The hotel is small, but clean and well maintained. WE were picked up from the airport and driven back the next day as there are no local taxi. The restaurant food was good, but not a lot of selection. The service was great as the hotel tried to ensure we had a good stay. Overall I would stay here again.

We thought the breakfast provided were a buffet style. However, we need to order the meals and wait for it. It took more than 45 minutes to prepare a simple breakfast (omelette, waffle, 1 piece of hot dog and a few pieces of mixed fruits). In addition, we also requested the staff to dry our wet clothes and return to us before 7pm. We asked for the return three times but no show up. In addition, there is no phone in our room, thus we need to go down to ask the receptionist. Apart from that, the room is so small. We requested to upgrade unfortunately there is no available room during that time.

Overall a pleasant stay. Location; Plus points: the location is right on the beach and this hotel has its own area for sitting and sun lounging right on the lovely sands. Hulhumale is a relatively new island (reclaimed land) and the sand is lovely and soft. within a short walk are many restaurants with cuisine styles from local to Indian to Chinese to fast food burger/chicken/pizza places. There is an ATM close by and a lot of local shops. Downside: Hulhumale is new, so there is a lot of ongoing development. This wont last forever but nearby construction work is happening. This is not so much a problem at night as I could not hear it. Hotel: Modern style, very friendly and helpful staff who greeted me and waved me off as i left. Rooms vary in size and view - if you like your rooms to be spacious with views, select the large rooms. If you just need a comfy bed and modern facilities, then any size will do. Aircon worked great. Warning about the TV; you will think it does not work properly. There are no instructions on how to use it, but there is a hotel streaming media service using the connected TV functionality. Though frankly who on earth goes to the beach in Maldives to sit in the hotel room and watch TV? Food: I cant really say much about this as I was on vacation and did not get up early enough for breakfast. Unfortunately, during my 2 night stay the chef was unavailable, which is a shame given the positive reviews on here of their food!

Fine for the area
I would likely choose the Hotel Ocean Grand if you can get a comparable rate. This likely should be a solid 3 star, rather than a 4 star. They back rooms are quite tiny. The hotel faces the waterfront and there is a bit of a beach there. It's not a bikini beach, so you will need to be in a 1 piece or more for a swim suit. The staff was nice. Contact them via email in advance. They can pick you up at the airport. Go to the info desk and call them if you didn't have time and they will give you a lift. There is a charge for this.

Fantastic room with panoramic ocean view, super comfy beds (premium) and the best staff we've ever come across! We felt so welcome and well taken care of. Breakfast is cooked to order; waffles, fresh squeezed juice, fruits, toast, eggs, jam, chicken sausage. Cool, modern oceany design, beautiful bathroom, amazing rooftop views! Again, the owner and his staff are doing everything to make you comfortable here. They have chairs and a big umbrella at the beach so you can watch the surf or swim in the lagoon. Wifi works perfectly and all food we ordered was delicious! Especially nice with fresh juice, different selection each morning. We stayed 10 days and I strongly disagree with ppl saying island Hulhuemale has nothing to offer... I think staying at remote atolls might be nice for some people needing absolute solitude, but before spending 10x the money make sure you actually enjoy life on a deserted island... Otherwise you're stuck with absolutely no supermarkets/markets/ferrys/restaurants/tours/social life/culture/hospitals etc, etc... except what your tiny resort island is offering (they're all really, really tiny, like 3 min walk across, nothing to explore and very expensive... ). This is a better option. You can go on amazing daytrips to sandbanks, reefs, islands and other atolls from Hulhuemale marina, snorkel and dive at some amazing spots with everything from doplhins to leopard moray eels and stingrays. Island Beach House for the win, we will be back for sure! :D

Ein ganz tolles Hotel direkt am Strand.Sehr sauber.Das Personal ist sehr hilfreich.Die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet.Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich.Mal als Buffet und mal nach Karte mit verschiedenen Menüs.Ich persönlich habe Halbpension gehabt wo man zum Frühstück wahlweise Mittagessen oder Abendessen nehmen konnte.Das Hotel ist auch Zentral gelegen.Etliche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants.Ich bin froh dieses Hotel gebucht zu haben.Danke schön gerne immer wieder.
