Property is walking distance to the popular night markets. They provide covered parking. Room is nice and clean. Staff very friendly.
We stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant experience overall.
The hotel feels very comfortable, with generously sized bedrooms and bathrooms. As a four-star hotel, it offers complete facilities and thoughtful design, and the interior décor is tasteful and well maintained.
The location is also convenient—only a 5–6 minute walk to the city’s most famous night market, with a large supermarket nearby.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
One thoughtful touch we really appreciated was that the hotel provides complimentary late-night soup for guests every evening, which felt very warm and caring.
The only drawback is that the windows in the room cannot be opened at all. I personally prefer to open the windows daily for ventilation, especially in humid climates, so this was a small downside for me.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and is a very good choice.

Nice hotel with a 70s feel. Clean and very friendly staff.
I’d give 10/10 for this hotel. The services and cleaners are amazing. My room is really nice. I can see the ocean view and the town from the window. Breakfast was amazing too. The location is really quiet, walkable to the town, really close to the night market and bus stop too.
Rooms were good size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Towels were a little worn. We stayed in our room till after 12;00 noon and requested room clean up but no one came to clean the room.
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel!
The staff were so welcoming when checking us in and always welling to help. The room was new and clean! We loved the breakfast. A lot of good Taiwanese options. They also offered free afternoon tea and midnight snack. The hotel was within 5 minutes walking distance to night market. Highly recommend!
Room is spacious and clean. Walking distance to Dong Da Men night market. There is a wide variety of choices for breakfast. Strongly recommended place to stay.
The hotel has exceeded my expectations. It is clean, well maintained and has a good spread of breakfast. It is also very accessible to the night market. Highly recommended. I'll choose this hotel again if i come to Hualien.
Very nice stay in the suite with a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately the earthquake cut our stay short, but they were so accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. What a terrifying thing for the staff to navigate - they were wonderful. I fear the hotel had significant damage and hope they will be able to reopen.

Handy location, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. The property is getting run down inside, carpets all need replacing as they are a bit smelly, and there is mould on the bathroom ceiling coming through.
Great location with walking distance to the night market and beach. We enjoyed the breakfast. There were a lot of options and it was really great. Kids commented it's one of the best. Also really appreciated that hotel provided the biking service, we had opportunity to bike around. that was nice too. Wish they could tell us that they do provide shuttle service to train station but need lead time.

It was Average at best.
The staff were very nice, however, we changed rooms 3 times due to issues of Mold and Smell. The first room had broken air vents that had black mold growing inside of them, and the second room had a horrible smell. When we were changed to the second room, it was actually a downgrade into a smaller room with no view and although I alerted the staff about this they insisted it was the same size and rate. That smaller room had a horrible smell and so I went back down to complain and asked for a refund, as I was ready to go find a different accommodation. They refused to refund me and then offered me an "upgrade" on the room which was exactly the room I had originally booked but a few doors down, which had mold as well just less of it in the vents and luckily no smell. (They did not offer me that room first because they said they were fully booked... clearly not true). Regardless we accepted the 3rd room because we were not willing to fight anymore and were exhausted from driving. The breakfast was great and the service of the staff for breakfast was exceptional. The head of the restaurant who seated us showed us around and she went out of the way to give us recommendations for the cuisine as we were not familiar with all of the offerings. All in all the staff did try their best working with what they could, and we did not feel as if they had ill intentions. SO, although the hotel is listed as a 4 star, I would suggest staying elsewhere for the same price or less (many options).
Arsma was one of 6 hotels we booked for this trip, and so far everyone loved Arsma the most, wondering why didn't we stay with them for longer.
Check in was swift, and the team was very hospitable
The rooms were large and comfortable with all necessary amendments, water pressure to the shower was amazing (perfect for after a long day walking in Tarokko).
Breakfast was wonderful as well with lots of local food to try, for coffee drinkers, they provide 2 kinds of coffee - brewed coffee and a pretty decent coffee machine.
The supper provided comes in take away container where each room is given 2 vouchers - 1 voucher is entitled for 1 item. I'd say the supper was not for everyone tho I enjoyed it.
Didn't manage to check out their other facilities so won't comment on those.
All-in-all, Arsma is a great place to stay with reasonable charges. Will recommend and return to this property every time I'm at Hualien.
It’s surprisingly good, from friendly staff to great breakfast buffet to nightly snack bar. The proximity to the night market is a big plus. Just a wonderful stay!
