The website description was misleading. It claimed to be a boutique hotel, but our experience did not reflect that. The room was sparsely furnished—with what looked like a leftover restaurant chair (plastic with metal legs)—and the furniture was dinged up and had paint splatters, as did the carpet and walls. We were given only two towels and one washcloth—no hand towels, no toilet paper holder, no towel hooks, and no shelf or storage in the shower. It was all very strange.
While the staff was friendly, the “local, eclectic, artistic” vibe described online was nowhere to be found. The walls, ceilings, and doors were paper thin—we could clearly hear the neighbor’s TV (even though it wasn’t loud), every footstep above us, and even the ice machine dispensing.
The listing mentioned a shuttle within a 3-mile radius, but on arrival we learned it was only for medical appointments—so it didn’t cover the event we were attending. The location was an easy walk to NRG Stadium, but the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit sketchy.
Also, at check-in they required a physical card with printed numbers because they didn’t accept chip or tap-to-pay. It worked for a single night, but we would not stay here again.
