Our room was on the second floor. My husband is disabled. Came to find out the owner had not maintained the elevator for 4 years because he’s too cheap to apply for inspection it has to be fixed. Room sleeps 3 and the bed had no blankets sheets or pillows. The very kind kitchen prepper( no staff on hand and no WiFi info) got us a blanket that had a bowling ball size hole right in the middle. The all paper was peeling on all walls and corners. Room 205. I had to make four trips up 2 flights with luggage and one with my disabled husband which took 30 minutes. It’s quite a sh— hole. The mini frig fell out of its cubby face down onto the floor.

The jacuzzi tub didn’t work. The shower pan filled up to the point it spilled out on the floor. The bed was okay. The pillows were amazing though. The fake plant in the room was dusty over the sink. My jacket fell behind the couch and came out dusty and dirty. Looking back there it looked like it’s been there for years without any cleaning. Q-tips and a few other things. I would stay again but I’m going to make sure the tub works.

Upon arrival, no one was there to check me in. I figured it out, and went to the sister hotel, but additional signage would be good for the future. I learned that I was the only guest at the hotel, which left me feeling somewhat vulnerable. I would have liked to know that the front door would lock, it appeared open to all at all times I came/went. Room itself was fine, liked the fireplace feature, and the chair. In terms of style, I might suggest removing wallpaper and simply painting the walls/crown molding for a more modern look. It's ready for a revamp.

The hotel is amazing and like taking a step into a more lavish time. The pub is amazing and has the most friendly staff. We watched the bartender diffuse a very aggressive condescending “Karen” with nothing but grace and professionalism. The food is amazing and service top notch. We will definitely be back!!

We checked in on Thanksgiving using self check-in, which was fine, but the main entry door was broken and left unlocked with no staff around. There was no one to check us out, so we dropped our keys at the hotel next door. The room was roomy but the furniture was worn, the bed was uncomfortable, and the heater didn’t work, so it was very cold. The place needs updates and consistent staffing.

The inn itself is charming and welcoming, but what really made our experience unforgettable was Bo — the amazing multi-hat-wearing innkeeper and pub manager. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. Her kindness, professionalism, and fun personality made our celebration truly special. Bo goes above and beyond in every role she takes on — she’s the heart and soul of the place. Wallpaper in bathroom seams were coming apart, hole in screen door, bathtub air bubbles were not working. Carpet needed cleaning. Nice place but was lacking maintenance.

Hopland visit

There is the good and the bad to say about this stay. We were not given the room we booked but we were given a nice, spacious suite similar to it. The elevator was not working so it's good that we are fit for our age (73). This would not have been good for elderly/handicapped. There are a lot of stairs to all the rooms! My husband uses a C Pap and had to move a very heavy chest of drawers to get to the plug by the bed. It was a very big, nice room with a separate area for bedroom, sitting room and dining room. There was a small fridge, a Mr Coffee maker, no microwave though. It is a quality hotel but seems like who owns it doesn't care about keeping it that way. The coffee in the room wasn't good but the girl who checked us in did give us a coupon for free coffees at the cafe next door. We went to the pizza pub, waited an hour for our pizza - it was 25 dollars for a 12 inch pizza and it wasn't exactly as described. They were out of Coors light and only had the more expensive beers. We only saw very young (20s) people working at the property. They were doing their best but no sign of anyone in charge. The jets in the jetted tub in our room did not work. I wasn't able to tell anyone that as when we checked out there was no one around. We did enjoy the room. We were even able to watch the As game onthe directv. The balcony is very nice too. We saw the nice pool area but didn't go in. This has been and could be a very nice hotel. It needs a little care.

Honest review

The hotel was a beautiful building, beds was comfortable, place was clean, but furniture worn down with scuffs, etc. Staff was not really available to provide things as needed and short staffed. We came in after a long drive to find the deadbolt didn’t work on our door. My husband called the manager who was very short and rude on the phone. He got tools from the staff available and fixed it himself. If you don’t mind doing things on your own then it’s your stay. It’s a nice property but wanted to give a honest review so next guest know what they are getting into. Honestly should be a 2 star hotel.

Was horrible loud - and no pool - no breakfast - no room service - waaaay to expensive for that - that place has so so so much more potential - we were badly disappointed. SO SORRY Nothing around - no wine shops or so. Bonterra has no wine shop neither on their property
