This is a charming historic hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The restaurant is excellent. The grounds are impeccably maintained, with creek running through the property, fountains and multiple green spaces with bocce ball, outdoor chess, horseshoes, etc. as well as several benches that overlook the Columbia River and a waterfall that is just enchanting. They are pet friendly, which is surprising. Note: the elevator is "historic" and requires operation by staff, and they are very responsive!

This is a grand dame of the old days. It has known better days but the people who manage it now are doing a decent job. The place could and deserves a refurbishment. The grounds are beautiful and are well maintained, the main building is a jewel in need of polish. Noise transmission between rooms is an issue. I could hear other people's conversations in neighboring roooms. The decor is regrettably poor and tired.

This is a gorgeous historic property. Wondering why they are using the cheap ultra white light bulbs in the interior light fixtures - just kills the vibe.

The waitress in the morning and lunch was very upset because an older gentle man touch her shoulder. She was screaming loudly don't ever touch me again. He was 95 years old. We were stunned. Didn't know what to do. He apologized profusely but she was in a bad mood after that.
