I am very happy to stay in such a historic hotel. It is very convenient to eat, walk, play at the beach, and surf near the hotel. The staff is very friendly. Because it is very convenient, the environment is a bit noisy. But it does not affect the mood of the whole holiday at all. If I come next time, I will still choose this hotel.

I wanted an oceanfront room that was clean. And a good nights sleep. That’s what I got! The view is amazing. The staff is very friendly. The room was clean and the beds are comfortable. It’s not fancy. Know that before you go. We stayed for a week and will probably come back. Mahalo!

I wanted to raise several issues we experienced during our stay, as they significantly impacted the quality of what we paid for. For the first four days, the elevator was out of service. We were staying on the 9th floor, and I was there with a disabled person, which made this situation especially difficult and unacceptable. Additionally, the hot water did not work for two days, and there was a power outage during one of the days as well. These are basic expectations for any hotel stay, and not having them available made the experience frustrating. We also noticed that some of the listed amenities were either unavailable or not provided. The DVD dispenser, which is advertised as an amenity, was out of service the entire time. On top of that, the complimentary water bottles that are supposed to be included were never provided to us. It was also clear that many other guests were upset during this time, as these issues affected more than just our stay. Overall, these problems made the experience fall far below what was advertised and expected. These are not minor inconveniences—these are essential services and amenities that were paid for, including a working elevator, reliable electricity, and access to hot water, none of which were consistently provided during our stay. I would appreciate you addressing this and letting me know how you plan to make this right. Additionally, the way the “beach view” is described is misleading. The wording suggests a front-facing ocean view

The location is great. That is the only nice thing I have to say. DO Not Stay Here! We arrived on Saturday to no hot water and no working elevators. We were not warned of this prior to check in. The front desk staff could barely grunt a response. My husband has MS and cannot climb a lot of stairs. By the next day with still no working elevators and no hot water and the staff just laughing when we asked when it would be fixed we asked for a refund to go to another hotel. We were told management could not be contacted about this until Monday. We then contacted Expedia and were told later in the week that the hotel had refused our refund. Outrageous! This hotel has no amenities, no housekeeping. Sketchy people all around the entrance. I do not know on what planet this hotel gets 8.4 stars!!!

Great location, but hotel was old and showed its age. Rooms were clean. Have to request housekeeping services; they only provide cleaning weekly unless asked. Staff was very friendly. Elevators were not working properly, but there had been a power outage on the island due to storms. Even so, they should have been fixed after a day or two--they were not. We were on the 4th floor and had to use the stairs for most of our visit. The stairwell smelled gross and seemed dirty. Overall, a good stay at a convenient location.

This was a one night unplanned stay since my connecting flight to Maui was diverted to Honolulu. We missed our connecting flight to Kauai and couldnt leave until the next day. Front desk agent waited until after I checked in to tell me there is no hot water in the room. They put us on the 10th floor. Elevator was broken and only went to the top floor or the bottom floor so we had to take all pur luggage to the top floor and walk all the way down to the 10th floor with all our bags and my elderly in laws were struggling big time. Once we got to the 10th floor, our options for leaving were either to walk up to the top floor which i believe was the 14th floor including a 13th floor, or to walk down the stairs to the 1st floor. Rather than walk up 4 flights and wait for the 1 elevator, we decided to walk down 10 flights. The room was not fully cleaned upon check in, we found a bunch of chip crumbs on the floor. The room itself cost $200 for the night, times 2 since we had 2 rooms. We checked in at 5pm and checkout out at 5am so we were only there for 12 hours and only needed to sleep after the horrible travel day we had. We landed in honolulu and spent 3 hours waiting on the tarmac for an available gate so we could deplane. Basically spent $400 for 2 hotel rooms for 12 hours with no elevetor and no hot water. And upon check out, they had the gall to charge us a Guest Convenience fee of $30 per room. Do yourself a favor and stay at any other hotel. Motel 6 would have been better.

*** Do not stay at this hotel! *** Firstly: During our stay of 11 days, one of the two elevators was always out of service. The remaining elevator did not work properly. On some days it only stopped at the Lobby and 14th floor. On other days, it stopped at every floor on the way up and the way down, easily taking 15 minutes to get to/from our room. On one day, the elevator was not working at all and we had to walk up 13 flights of stairs to our room. Secondly: the hot water system did not work for 2 days, and we were unable to have a shower to wash sand and salt off after visiting the beach.
