PRO: Walkable from both the lake & ski resort. Bonus free breakfast. Breakfast was delish. Free parking so you don't have to pay $5 to park in Homewood. Has a nice dock/patio in the back for lake access. Convenience store is also walkable. Nice receptionist/workers. Clean & well-stocked rooms. Has an abundance of pillows even inside the closet. Has fridge & TV.

Location across from Homewood.
This was a last-minute family trip planned during the New Years weekend as Tahoe got tons of snow but driving conditions were not possible except for the few days so we came up. The price of this McKinney suite was expensive which I can understand given the holiday and last minute weekend trip plan. Husband and I got a bedroom w/ en suite bathroom to ourselves while our two boys were out in the living room on a sofa bed that was terribly uncomfortable. Overall The accommodations were good as it’s large, had 2 fireplaces and a balcony which I used to keep perishables there rather than the tiny refrigerator provided. We had decided on going to the New Year’s Eve masquerade murder mystery show and dinner advertised which was $159/PP and the dinner was off the regular menu which we had the night before. Food was decent but should have been different given the holiday. The show was the worst performance we had ever seen. First the evening started at 8pm but forever to get started but then it just went from Bad to worse—we left after the meal. There were no decorations or props in the restaurant which looks quite plain everyday and the performance didn’t have anything to do with a masquerade theme so why is it in the description? The staff at West Shore were very nice and friendly, that is their strength, the location across from Homewood was so convenient and the Lake on the other side. We were able to go nearby to do sledding one of the days.

Incredible gem on the West Shore
We were so impressed with this place..a huge shout out to Connor, the manager, and his staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible stay. Worth the price and you are right on the beach. Also much more private and quaint than Sunnyside. We will be back!

The staff is very accommodating and very helpful. The McKinley suite is pretty, but lacking in comfort because they took away the coffee maker and microwave oven.

We absolutely loved our stay! They were super clean and sensitive to covid throughout the entire process (checkin, hallways, room cleanliness, continental breakfast was room service every day without charge) and the staff were so friendly! Beautiful spot and great food!

The absolute best
Staying at West Shore was one of the best experiences. My boyfriend and I travel frequently and were extremely impressed with everything about this place. The people were extremely friendly, the food from the restaurant was amazing, the drinks from the bar were 10/10. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway. You also get breakfast delivered to your door every morning with a full coffee bar right outside the rooms. Thank you for making our stay even better than expected! Can't wait to be back.

Great room and location. Beautiful building and terrific new mattress in the Marlette Peak Suite. However the wear and tear of use and time are starting to show. They also started a new policy of completing a card stating what you would like for breakfast and when. There are only six rooms and last year this extra step wasn’t necessary. If anything the breakfast is below par for this establishment and not compatible with the cost to stay here.

Overall check in and check out were smooth. Small boutique hotel with just 6 rooms. The way they do breakfast is nice, but I would recommend offering granola with yogurt and maybe some healthier options (crumb cake and sandwich both higher in fat).

Reaxing, friendly and convenient!
Fantastic spot right on the lake. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Brian. We stayed in the Sugar Pine Suite which was cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately the thermostat in our bedroom was not working, but that wasn't a super big deal as the one in the living room was. We read some complaints about the breakfast, but we found it very nice. Really convenient to be able to pick what you want and it's delivered to your door at the time that you want. The location was fantastic with Tahoe City only about a 10-minute drive away. There was a wedding one of the nights that we were there and there was loud music outside of our window until about 10 p.m. which may have been frustrating to some, but we enjoyed listening while we watched the sunset on the lake!

The property was gorgeous and located across the street from the ski resort. Wish we would have know that the restaurant was closed as we were really looking forward to eating there. We heard so many wonderful things.

Gem by the lake
Beautiful gem on the wild western shore; few guest rooms make for intimate and cozy feeling. We went off season, restaurant was closed. Only small complaints I have: breakfast was very basic, expected a little more, even for continental. Lights in room should be brighter!

I really wanted to love this place. The location and facility seem amazing. But It felt very awkward staying at West shore Inn while they had a private wedding going on. Could not really even leave our room with out feeling like we should not have been there since the place is pretty small and the wedding took over the entire facility. They did not give any warning ahead of time, or even when I checked in that there would be a band / dj that would be playing until 10p that seemed to be directly under our room and incredibly loud that it actually shook the room.

A Taste of The Good Life on Lake Tahoe
My wife and I spent our 31st wedding anniversary in one of the most beautiful settings on the planet. West Shore Cafe is located on our favorite side of the lake and feels like luxury living. We woke up to the sunrise with coffee and bagels, sat on our balcony and enjoyed being right on the lake. We spent the day hiking and biking before returning to the Inn where we had great happy hour drinks sitting on the comfy couches at the end of the dock. Every employee was accommodating and friendly - we were totally pampered. The food was excellent and it was perfect not having to drive to dinner. Afterward, we lounged with drinks and then went on a sunset walk. It was a heavenly two nights.

Total surprise
I expected a decent place to spend a romantic ski weekend with the wife. Upon arrival we were met by a super accommodating staff who worked they’re way through some booking issues and basically gave us the benefit of the doubt. Lesson learned I would book directly however in this instance it worked in our favor. The woodwork and the beautifully lit dock were our favorite touches. Definitely be back.

Glorious, yet noisy
We just got engaged and wanted to do a romantic getaway. We checked into our room (Mountain View) and decided to upgrade to the Lake View (SO WORTH IT). The room and view was just glorious - and came with a living room, 2 fireplaces, 2 bathrooms - so amazing. The problem... The "Watson" room is SO noisy! There was a wedding Friday night and our room was vibrating out of control - so loud. Luckily it ended by 10pm. However, it sounded like there was a generator right next to the room because there was just constant noise. So with that said - ask for the other suite - hopefully it's less noisy. Staff was incredible and very accommodating. Restaurant is good, free breakfast is great. We will be back

We were the only guests at the Inn - had the entire place to ourselves! "Tall" Sara was an absolute sweetie - so friendly and helpful. She readily upgraded us because restaurant & bar were not open due to lack of snow and occupancy for wknd. Our suite was very nice & view of lake gorgeous!

Hotel service are great, the staffs were very nice. Walking cross the street to Homewood ski resort. The only concern is hotel has hold $359.00 pre-authorized fee which is consider higher than other hotels.

Great people, great place.
Despite the power being out most of time of my stay due to the snow storm coming through, everyone was extremely nice. The rooms were very clean & cozy with warm fire place, and in the morning breakfast was brought to the room. I hope to make another trip out hopefully not in a snowstorm next time!
