Gorgeous place to stay. Great room and delicious meals...the best breakfast! Barman on arrival seemed grumpy and unhelpful but maybe he was having a bad day. The rest of the staff were fab!

The Malting has be developed to a very high standard, and is staffed by very competent and polite people. The bar area has a very traditional feel to it with comfortable seating and beautiful surrounds. The restaurant, whist a little expensive delivers quality food however the menu is rather limited. Service is excellent.

Excellent stay, breakfast of champions!

We had a beautiful 2 night stay here, pretty little village but close to a beautiful shingle beach. Sharon on the front desk was amazing, she offered us an upgrade which made the time very special. Food was amazing too, breakfast kept us going til the mid afternoon! Can highly recommend the veg tagine to share on the evening menu. Ideal spot for exploring the north Norfolk coast.

Great location and the hotel has been lavishly refurbished and offers a really lovely restaurant in a converted barn. Open kitchen and great food.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff couldn’t do more for us, dinner was delicious, breakfast was delicious and such an incredible selection available. Norfolk Odyssey

Stayed a couple of days & were in Room 1. Due to the hot weather windows needed to be open thus noise travelled easier & early morning disturbances (Dustmen?) were unwelcome Food offering was good although the sharing options were a tad pompous & overpriced in our opinion. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were all friendly & responsive to any requests.

Although we only stayed for one night we really enjoyed our stay. The property is quiet, well located, very cosy and welcoming. Staff are without exception lovely, friendly and helpful. We have stayed at other Chestnut group properties and they have all been lovely although the online systems can sometimes be glitchy. This is not the fault of the staff at the property who worked hard to resolve a minor issue.

An excellent time. Lovely setting and great having seperate rooms. Allows you to come and go as you please. Great reception at front desk and really welcoming staff in restaurant and at the bat.

Excellent hotel stay. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The main house is comfortable and welcoming. The room was lovely, maybe a tad small but extremely clean with premium sheets and had everything you needed. Good coffee too! Only one tiny suggestion - the soap and shower gel were same container - it would be good to have a small bar soap at the sink so you didn’t need to move them. Love having bath robes. The restaurant was delightful - very fresh healthy food and great service. Would definitely recommend! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Anniversary meal and stay

We loved the room (8) and the shower was exceptional. Food was hit and miss, and service sometimes slow, and the restaurant acoustics mean that other people’s conversations are well heard! But… a lovely team of helpful and (just enough) attentive staff, who endeavour to make your stay all you could wish for.

A Wonderful Chance Find.

What a happy accident. We made a very last minute decision to have a stay on the North Norfolk Coast and picked The Maltings almost by sticking a pin in the list. It turned out we had chosen one of the finest hotels we could have found and the location was perfect. The hotel staff were extremely friendly without being overly intrusive and the hotel itself is really cosy and welcoming. There are lots of areas to sit and rest with a drink. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away and that opens the opportunity to head into Sheringham along the coastal path. We ate at the local pub, but the hotel restaurant looks really inviting and the food top quality. We did have breakfast there and sure enough it was delicious. Altogether a memorable break in a hotel fitting for the discerning guest.

We liked the super spacious room. The gorgeous bathroom - the shower was great. The easy walk to the sea. The bottle shop, though a corkage fee of £25, I wouldn't class as small. The games room for some friendly competition with a pre-dinner pint. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were lovely throughout our one night stay. We didn't like being seated for dinner in the terrace area of the Grain Store. It was cold, so we'd request to sit in the double-storey grain store restaurant next time. More atmosphere, too.
