Second visit. Disappointed to find that only a light breakfast is now included. Our room was small with no drawers for our clothes. Our evening meal was expensive without the quality. People were very friendly and welcoming.
Lovely hotel and location. Food uninspiring and lukewarm. Dining service awful however breakfast food and service good. Loose tap in bathroom and broken toilet roll holder however these were reported and fixed the next day. Some staff lovely and helpful others did not seem to care about customer service
We stopped over for my partners birthday. We often visit North Norfolk and have driven past everytime saying we must stop and check this place out. So glad we did. The room was clean tidy and comfortable with good size bathroom and excellent shower. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was again excellent although could have done with slightly larger portion. The staff were superb nothing was too much trouble and very attentitive. Excellent choice of beers and spirits. I have two small gripes. We stayed in the room called The Watermill The ventilation was poor. The window was very small and we ended up putting the fan on the window sill (which was noisy) to try and force cool air into the room and also upon entering the room there was a slight smell of oil, possibly heating oil or similar. Not entirely sure where it could come from though. Other than these 2 minor things I couldn't fault the place and would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for 1 night while visiting north Norfolk Made to feel very welcome on arrival, made a dinner reservation, food was great, not big portions but good quality. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was good with cereals and cooked options. Quiet setting, windows not double glazed at property so expect some noise until pub closes.
The service upon arrival was outstanding. We stayed in the Watermill room which was on the small side. Unfortunately the temperature on the 2 nights that we stayed was very high and the small window and upright fan was really not sufficient to cool the room down much. There was no mirror in the actual room, only in the bathroom so someone couldn't get ready whilst someone else was in the bathroom, i found this a real inconvenience.
We ate in the hotel on the 1st night. The food was very tasty but expensive for what it was. We ordered the rump of lamb and all it came with was some peas and a jus but no potatoes or chips. The meals were a disappointing size portion.
The continental breakfast was great and the bed was comfortable. The choice of teas of great along with the extra toiletries.
We couldn’t have had a better stay at the King’s Head. At first view the outside area, easy parking and pub seating area were exactly what we had hoped, and the small but perfectly formed room was so clean, well designed and decorated. The staff went out of their way over the course of the weekend to be helpful and accommodate our eating times, and the food (especially the breakfast!) was exceptional. It felt like a quiet little Haven perfect for exploring the nearby scenic areas.
It was absolutely beautiful there and we loved our stay - even though we’re about 5 hours away, it was worth the drive and we will definitely be back. Thanks so much to all at the King’s Head for showing us such a lovely weekend.
The room was tiny,no chairs, hardly walk round the bed and ceiling sloping , felt very chlostrophobic and couldn't stay . small window overlooking a flat roof ,no outlook.
Better off in a garden shed with outlook.
