Great food

We visited Skansen for 20 years now. Restaurant makes lovely dishes. It has become a bit overdecorated and busy. Service is not like it used to be. However some staff is wonderful. Check out is early, 10 am. Rather expensive. Location is nice. Båstad is wonderful.

Nice ambience in cozy Båstad

The hotel offers a charming atmosphere in the heart of Båstad. The interior is well-designed, with plenty of seating areas and fireplaces, creating a relaxing environment. The rooftop pool and bar area are particularly appealing and provide a great spot to unwind. One unique aspect is the constant flow of guests in robes, moving between the spa and the outdoor baths, which adds to the relaxed vibe. The room itself had some quirks. The sink is located outside the bathroom, which can be inconvenient, especially at night. The rooms are small but quiet, with open wardrobes and minimal storage. The bed felt narrow and short, though we’re accustomed to a king-size at home, so this may be personal preference. Both the pillows and the bathroom towels were surprisingly small, which detracted slightly from the experience. Breakfast is served in a spacious restaurant with beautiful views. While the spread isn’t the largest we’ve encountered, it covers all the essentials and maintains a good quality. Overall, despite a few imperfections, the hotel delivers a high standard, particularly for a Swedish property, and remains one of the better options available.

Poor service at the hotel restaurant

The food at the hotel restaurant was good but the service was really bad. 30 min to get water and bread.60 min to get the food. I was compencated by a glass of Wine but it didnt help the experience despite the fact that the nice Italian Waiter tried to speed up his colleagues.

Bring flip-flops

You can buy plastic flip-flops at SEK65 a pair. The hotel does not provide flip-flops. No kettle, tea, coffee in the room. Breakfast weekdays is limited compared to on holidays.

Beautiful spa areas

We had a great spa stay at Hotel Skansen Båstad. You can choose between three different magnificent spa areas at Skansen. Kalbadhuset is so beautiful. You swim in the sea, enjoy the sunny deck and a peaceful area inside. And then when you get a little cold you heat up in the saunas or the heated tub. On the rooftop we enjoyed the heated infinity pool overlooking the bay - and a nice drink from the bar. And on the ground floor we enjoyed an inside swimming pool, a Japanese pool and sauna and steam room. We had dinner at one of the charming restaurants in the harbour next to the hotel. We recommend taking a walk at the harbour area. Unfortunately there was a dj playing loud music until 2am in front of the hotel which was very stressful. Hope the hotel won’t let that happen again.

Very disappointing and noisy!

Very disappointing! The room was extremely noisy with very loud music and parties half of the night on the beach nearby. Impossible to sleep before 2am without any notice or information about the party. That is definitely not what is excepted from this quality level of hotel.

Bra hotell med en STOR nackdel på sommaren och det är att det spelas musik fram till ca0300 för alla partysugna , trots stängda fönster tränger basen igenom och det är svårt att sova. Så det blir inga fler sommarövernattningar här, kommer tillbaka utanför säsong.

Hotel Skansen behöver rycka upp sig. Hotellrummen har alltid varit små men nu börjar det även bli lite bedagat. Ingen ac, minibaren fungerade inte (ingen kyla), flimrande spotlights i badrummet, hårfön från medeltiden… Gemensamma ytor på hotellet är fortfarande väldigt fina och trevliga och frukosten innehåller mycket och är god.
