Very warm and clean room. Beware the check-in !

Very clean room inside a private building in a district on Rohrbach (remember this name if you seek the street address in your navigator) New bathroom , very clean. Heating both in the bathroom and in the room working very well at any time. They have no reception. WARNING : Before going to Heidelberg , try your best (in written email or better by phone) to find a way to communicate with the owner or with Mr. Horvath. You need a code of 3 numbers to open the metal box outside the building: inside you will find the key of your room and the key for the main gate of the building. By the phone number listed in the reservation message, I had to try many times before Mr. Horvath could finally answer me.when you leave in the morning, it is not granted that somebody is waiting for you to give the key back: thus, try to make it clear what they expect you can do with the keys of the doors.

Came for a 3-day business trip. Location is really outside the city, but the tram is 5 min walk and the frequency is rather good. The property however is in poor maintenance condition. Also - its rather a nuisance that there is no front desk and that the owner is not always there. I imagine its less of a problem in longer stays but for a couple of days it was very uncomfortable. Even though its a low price guesthouse- my experience there was far worse than in similar price-range hotels in germany.

Das Zimmer war, wenn auch schlicht, sauber. Die Betten in Ordnung. Bettbezüge sauber und angenehm. Der Fußboden knarrte, wenn man nachts auf die Toilette gehen wollte nicht unbedingt vorteilhaft. Das Bad, für ein einfaches Gästehaus, war ordentlich ausgestattet. Die Hand- und Badetücher sauber. Seifenspender und Fön vorhanden. Das Wasser in der Dusche allerdings lief nicht ab, da der Ablauf total verstopft war mit langen schwarzen Haaren.Fairerweise muß man aber sagen, bei den berechneten Übernachtungskosten darf man kein fünf Sterne Service erwarten. Den "Gastgeber" haben wir nicht gesehen, geschweige denn getroffen.Weder beim Ein-noch beim Auschecken.
