「The majority of golfers arrive for the day and do not stay overnight. The result being after 9pm, the lodge is very quiet. For some that will be a like or dislike. I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed my stay with no complaints. All the staff I met were helpful and friendly.」

「The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. 「Standard rooms are old and need updating, not worth the money」

「There was only one member of staff there over our 2 day stay & she was really nice and helpful (she seemed to be covering reception, housekeeping & kitchen). Got to say all the public areas could do with a good hoover and the skylight in our room was covered in green algae. Our room was clean (apart from the skylights) but small. Breakfast was really poor for the price we paid. Hotel in general needs a good update as has loads of potential.」
