「Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. 「We had a lovely overnight stay in the 2 bedroom gite. Gite is really nicely decorated , comfortable beds and clean and comfortable duvet and pillows. We all enjoyed the use of the swimming pool and use of tennis courts. Swimming pool area is really nicely set up…access to refreshments was a bonus. I loved the serenity of the place. Would recommend and will come again.」
