The only nice thing about the hotel was the man at the front desk, and I truly mean that with utmost sincerity. He was respectful and kind throughout our 20 minutes at the West Hartford Inn. Everything other than him looked like a disaster, unfortunately. The parking garage had electronics and other old hotel wear out in the open as trash, the elevator, while working, was just barely doing so. The room we were placed in had things that were left out, presumably from people before us, such as a plastic bag and essential oils, which had been spilled out on the table as we first walked in. The walls and floors did little to hide wires and pipes, and the wall heater had a block of wood that was detached from its base, exposing said pipes and innards. Worst of all, dead bugs were littered along the windowsill, and the air was putrid with the smell of tobacco. Suffice to say little cleaning was done in our room before we came in, and I didn’t want to stay in another room, God forbid it was in worse condition.
