The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable . The biggest drawback was we never saw anyone . Our keys were left in an unlocked box and we return them in a locked box .

Hello Paula; thank you for your review. Given that it is the winter season, our office does have limited open hours, however, someone is always on property if you need assistance with anything. A number is posted on the door for you to call or text if the need arose. Guests typically appreciate not seeing much people around. Sorry!

The place was gross hair in the fridge and it stunk, even the staff apologized. I reached out to the office for a cancellation email that I didn’t stay so I could get a refund and im still waiting for it a week later. Don’t stay there!

Our soap dispenser didn’t work, there was left over dog food from another guest, and our door’s battery ran out which locked us out of our room and we were outside in the cold until the staff could get the battery changed. This wouldn’t have been a big deal except that after our stay, we were charged for damages that weren’t our doing. When trying to get the situation resolved, I was really disappointed by the lack of customer service and still wasn’t refunded back the full amount.

Booked two rooms. First room - updates need finished but satisfactory. Second room had strong moldy odor. New room didn't have amenities and no offer to refund the difference was offered.

The staff are just too amazing at the property. We stayed from October 12 to October 16 2023 and did not have any issues. We arrived late and the keys were outside the leasing office in an envelope. The room was nice but the floor was very dirty, we could not walk bare foot in the room and also the TV was not working. We complained and the guy came to fix it but could not and the staff happily gave us late checkout as complimentary for the inconvenience. Also we had initially booked a king bed but later we asked for a double bed room and they happily moved us to a double bed room. That’s amazing to see. It’s only 30 mins away from bar harbor so not far. Overall we enjoyed the stay except the dirt in the room.

No Country for old men type hotel
Very dated and sort of like the hotels from the movie ‘No country for old me’. Staff was nice. Some people there were residents not guests. Was pricey for what it was. Wouldn’t stay here again unless totally desperate

Easy to find about 30 mins from the Arcadia National Forest Entrance. Parking was easy, check in easy, basic place to rest which was what we were looking for. No carpet now which is nice. It looks like newer vinyl tile. Outdated furniture and fridge but that is expected after reading reviews. Bed was comfortable and it was clean.

TV was not working, asked 3 times about it and each time was told “ he’s on his way” after 2 hours I gave up and told them not to bother because I wanted to relax and get in my PJs. It had a funny smell that was really bad and no heat. The water pressure was great and it was clean which is a plus

We left the do not disturb sign on the door when we went out for the day so they wouldn’t clean the room. When we came back that night the door was open and the sign was inside the room. The room had not been cleaned but had been entered. The staff came by at 9 am and knocked on the door and banged on the door asking if we had left yet! It was very loud all night with people yelling and what sounded like a trash truck dumping dumpsters. The room we had this trip was cleaner than the one we had the previous week but still bad enough my family refused to shower. We would have canceled it but it was already past the cancellation date.

This hotel is older and has some upkeep challenges, but considering prices in Bar Harbor it is a much more affordable option.

It is 15 miles from Acadia which is the closest motel we could find. Easy access and parking. Close to stores and food. The girl at the desk was very friendly. Downside the carpet is dirty, bedspread is stained and dead bugs in the shower. Furniture looks nice in pics but isn’t and it smells awful. We found a glade plug in and unplugged it which helped.

My stay at White Birches was fine, but I am not a fussy traveler. I found it a fully adequate room for what I had paid. It is an older motel, and yes, needs some sprucing up. But in the meantime, if White Birches is willing to offer rooms for reasonable prices, this fills a need for the area. Don't expect the Ritz. You can catch a glimpse of Cadillac Mountain from outside your room, albeit with Route One passing by in the foreground.

Can't beat it for the price

Room was not what we were expecting according to the photos. We expected a more updated and clean room but found sticky tile floors throughout the room, hair in the bathtub, dingy bedding, and even a Benadryl tablet sitting on the tv stand that was left behind. We didn’t even feel comfortable taking our shoes off and decided to check out before we even spent the night.
