Wonderful location, beautiful house and stunning garden. Room was comfy and very clean. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and all freshly prepared. Will definitely be back!
We visited as a couple for a short getaway and found exactly the breath of fresh air we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable, the owner was warm and attentive, and breakfast was beautifully prepared with every detail considered by the owner, Sally. A special thanks to the chef for the delicious omelette. The overall atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for unwinding together. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet couple’s break.
Quiet rural location offering comfortable bedrooms with snug en suite. Guest lounge also available. Excellent choice of breakfast menu. Definitely would recommend a stay here just for the breakfast!
Sally was very welcoming and a great host! We stayed for two nights for a short weekend retreat, the views outside were stunning and the inside of the house was just as beautiful, everything was clean and tidy. If you are looking for somewhere to relax with peace this is definitely the place to go! We are definitely wanting to return again!
If you're looking for a peaceful stay in a period country house then Cleavers Ling is the perfect place for you.
Our bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast room, with its oak beams and inglenook fireplace set the scene for
our host, Sally, to bring us full English breakfasts, (my eggs were poached to perfection). Tea from a large silver service tea pot poured without dripping on the linen tablecloth and the toast from the toast-rack rounded off the meal and set us up for the morning. We were also offered home made banana bread wrapped up for a mid day snack. All this made our three night stay....perfect. Thank you Sally!
Beautiful location. Fantastic views and great walks. Attention to detail in our room. Wine glasses, cork screw etc. Excellent toiletries. Best breakfast with plenty of variety that I have had in any B&B we have stayed in. Attentive host with lots of local information provided. Pub within walking distance 1.5 miles. I could go on and on. Very peaceful stay and would not hesitate to rebook
Sally made us feel really welcome. The house dates back to the 1500s and so has all the character you would expect, with the modern comforts. Petit déjeuner / breakfast excellent choice and copious. Nothing to add … just perfect. We will be back.
Both Sally and her husband were amazing hosts - very friendly and ensured that my stay provided me with everything that I needed and more! I wasn't going to have breakfast but changed my mind on arriving at the house and so glad I did. Fabulous mushroom omelette accompanied with toast. Only downside is that they close at the end of the month and reopen in spring so I'll just have to wait for my next stay!!! On the plus side this means that they get time with their family which is so important and values that I hold high too! Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome.
Great place a little off the beaten track in beautiful countryside. Great breakfast
Only slight negative is that coffee in room and at breakfast could be stronger ( we are French!)
The breakfast was excellent, and the owner was kind, helpful, and accommodating. It was a very relaxing few days visiting my daughter at the college/castle near this property.

A beautiful countryside property. Very relaxing with exceptionally welcoming owners, Sally and Doug.
I would thoroughly recommend this guest house.
A lovely location and charming old house, modernised and extended but retaining old world character.
Sally is a lovely, friendly and helpful host.
Breakfasts are absolutely top rate.
Cleanliness is perfect.
Bathroom/shower could benefit from updating.
Loved the place. Views from our room amazing
Just a little bit dusty, but overall good quality toiletries and generous top notch biscuits with our tea tray.
Breakfast lovely, shame about the tinned tomatoes instead of grilled tomatoes.
A lovely guest house on a quiet country lane. Gardens were beautiful and the house had real character.
Our room was comfortable with a small sofa and four poster king sized bed which was very comfy.
Breakfast had enough choice forums and was plentiful.
Lovely stay. Owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. High standard of room and breakfast. Conscientious re covid rules. Would recommend and visit again
