"Nice 5 min walk to centre of old town. We didn't intend to eat at the hotel but the menu and price was so good we ate at hotel, very good meal. There was the option to pay €7 for secure parking but the open air car park seemed safe enough. We will stay here again "

"Generally a good stay however a little noisy. Noise from passing close traffic as it is in the centre and the walls are very thin so noise from other guests. "

"Wonderful hotel, full of character and so quiet. The room was clean with a modern on suite and all the usual safety features that you would expect in a much den hotel. We could have spent all day looking at the very old Spanish decoration of the hotel. We had breakfast and was made very welcome with a very high spec continental spread. Highly recommended."

"Very good on way down to Andalucia, especially if you are travelling with dogs. They are very dog friendly at this hotel."

5 star experience, family and pet friendly

"We were made to feel most welcome and the service was exceptional; forget the star rating, it’s 5 stars for experience. Greta facilities and restaurant, cafe for less formal dining. We will stay again at the end of our holiday on way back to boat. I would recommend to anyone wanting a stop over which is family and pet orientated. Thank you sincerely for making myself and Vicky so welcome."

What a great hotel

"The hotel is stylish & up-market. it has a lovely swimming pool area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pool bar was closed which was a shame during the daytime heat . The service in the restaurant was a bit slow but the food was very good and not overly priced. We would definitely stay here again as the hotel is very central and the town of Penafiel is lovely"
