The insulation wasn’t good so it could be a little chilly at night when it was snowing outside. The outdoor onsen was enjoyable. I will definitely come back next time I visit Gero. "

There were many good restaurants, just a bit of a hassle always needing reservations. Overall it was great, and a beautiful town "

"The hotel is very granular, however sadly it is also very old. The staff tried very hard to help but English is not common in the area, so lots was lost in translation. The onsite restaurants we booked out in advance so we had dinner at the ‘bar’ however this did not spoil the food, it was exceptional. The staff even though didn’t speak any English were very pleasant and tried to help in every way. "

"The whole stay was flawless and staff are really very consciously looking after your needs. The in room bath pool overlooking a small garden was cool. The dining experience was most excellent. Lastly we left a jacket in the wardrobe and realized that at the train station with minutes to board!; as my daughter was on the phone to hotel; the driver had retrieved the jacket and showed up at the station to return the jacket. This will never happen anywhere else - really appreciated the service...
