Our stay at La Anita was the highlight of our two week trip traveling throughout Costa Rica. Pablo, the owner, is a superb and gracious host who pays the utmost attention to every minute detail. We were shown impeccable hospitality and made to feel welcomed and extremely comfortable. The chocolate tour was over the top!

Staff was great. Dinner was amazing, sea bass with homemade pesto. Room was nice with comfortable bed. It was just late by the time we got our car rental. The road getting there is tough. Be prepared for a bumpy ride. Owner is kind and told us about the chocolate production on premises.

I cannot recommend it enough! Our only wish was that we stayed longer. The breakfast was phenomenal, the service was excellent. We had to leave early to catch a tour and they moved breakfast an hour ahead for us. We got in late and Pablo was up waiting for us and greeted us, gave us a tour, and just got to know us. We will absolutely be here again. Only note: you do need 4WD to get here if it’s been raining, at least if you’re coming from Rincon

La chambre était propre. Le ménage est fait tous les jours mais le frigo était douteux et il ne sentait pas bon. Pourquoi indiquer sur Expédia que ce sont des couettes en duvet d oie alors que ce n est qu un drap avec une simple couverture….? Il manque des lampes et tables de chevet près du lit ce n est pas pratique. La chambre familiale est spacieuse mais avec une déco très basique style dortoir. Nous avions pris des massages ce fut un moment agréable bien que la masseuse ne soit pas une professionnelle. Le massage etait un peu »brouillon ». On nous avait indiqué que le montant incluait les taxes mais au moment de payer la taxe a été ajoutée. Nous avions pris le dîner car l hôtel est isolé. Le repas est cher simple mais bon. Je conseille de vérifier la note il peut y avoir une erreur au moment du calcul par la réceptionniste. Je recommande tout de même car l hôtel est situé dans un très bel endroit et le propriétaire est disponible et sympathique.

Authentic, beautiful place with charming hosts

What an authentic and beautiful place with the most genteel, charming and gracious hosts! Several forest walking paths and an orange tree outside the cottage with a never-ending stream of varied bird life to watch. And chocolate factory on site - very interesting.

Eine sehr außergewöhnliche Unterkunft. Hier kann man Regenwald spüren. Der Service ist ausbaufähig, aber sehr ursprünglich. Pablo als Eigentümer sehr bemüht. Die angebotene Chocolate Führung war unglaublich interessant und mit großer Leidenschaft vorgetragen. Sehr Empfehlenswert !

We had a fabulous two days at Finca La Anita. Pablo and Ana were fabulous hosts and we truly enjoyed learning from their knowledge of all things Costa Rican, especially the history and quality of chocolate and coffee. We stayed in cabin 8 which was comfortably rustic with a refrigerator. We found the temperature in mid Feb to be approx 10 degrees C cooler than the coast. Travel by SUV is best as the road is quite rough at times. The home cooked meals were authentic, yummy and filling. We loved both the peacefullness, the nature and the birds at Finca La Anita. Many thanks Pablo and Ana, we are already looking forward to our next visit.
