Great value for a 3-star hotel and the staff were very helpful! I stayed here a few times in November during my month-long China trip. The majority clientele are international tourists because you can easily reserve on 3rd party websites, and is located in a convenient location - Guangzhou's Old Town (Liwan). Very close to attractions in Old Town, shopping, food, and cheap DiDi rides to anywhere in the the city. Includes breakfast which has a good variety of items, free laundry service, and was very convenient to store my extra luggage while I went on overnight trips outside of Guangzhou. Walking distance to the original Tau Tau Ju restaurant for dim sum and Nanxin for the city's best steamed double skin buffalo milk dessert.
Just a few things to be aware of: The staff knows limited english, but the use of translation technology makes communication easier. Some rooms have more wear and tear than others, but overall are fairly clean. No big deal for me since I was only there to sleep. Shower is over the toilet. The twin room is loft style where you need to climb steps to get to the second bed, and can be cramped with 3 adults, or if you have more than 3 large luggages. About half of the rooms faces an alleyway or the adjacent buildings so there will be no views or sunlight. To avoid this, request a room that is at a higher level and towards the back of the building.
