There is no doubt that this hotel is in a beautiful setting, with well-kept facilities and chalets that offer a stunning view of the Swiss mountains. Unfortunately the desk staff, although pleasant and well-meaning were often ill-informed about the local town of Grindelwald and gave us considerable amounts of misinformation about closing times, the town indoor poll (excellent and free for hotel guests.)
A major problem for guests who need Internet access at the hotel is that, although advertising that free Internet is available, only a limited number of guests at a time can get onto the wireless in the main hotel, and the chalets have no access other than a wireless hotspot on loan from the desk. There were only 2 of these—neither of them worked leaving us stranded for several days without Internet access, (I needed tis badly for work) , and a “shrugged shoulder” attitude of the desk and managerial staff implying “ that’s the way it is.”

I had originally booked for 6 nights, and changed this well before arrival /cancellation date to 5 nights, notifying both Expedia and the hotel. On our arrival at the hotel, the desk clerk said that there was a notation that the booking had been changed from 6 to 5 nights, and could we confirm this, which we duly did, and which she noted. On checkout after 5 nights we were presented with a bill for 6 nights,
