I’d recommend this property to anyone looking for a true small town feel in the middle of the Swiss Alps. The property was amazing and convenient to all attractions, dining and transportation.

Double Check if booking with Hotel
At Check in they did not have the room available that we had booked - Room with Bunk Beds for our two Children aged 10 & 12. The only room they had available had a small double bed that was not suitable. We had booked through Hotels.com which had confirmed it would be a room with Bunk Beds but the Eiger Hotel refused to Honour this - although admitting they had set the room description up wrong on Hotels.com. The decor of the room was very 1970's and 80's as they are planning to convert the apartments into new suites shortly. This was fine, however the lack of investment lead to us having chairs with Broken legs (which came off). They did replace when asked buy it shows a lack of care and attention to customers.

Just perfect
Absolutely perfect stay. The warmest welcome from the reception and super friendly service the whole time. Loved the spa facilities. Perfect to end a day in the snow. Location was excellent.

great location to train station. Can see snow mountains in the room. Easy to commute to Jungfrau. Oven is available in the kitchen. Very convenient for cooking. Coop is near by.

Please stay here if you are visiting Grindelwald!
Great location in Grindelwald, and just 5 minutes walk from the train station. We stayed in an apartment that provided daily cleaning, and an amazing view of the eiger! The 2 supermarkets were conveniently located minutes away from the hotel. Great gym too!

Dirty, dated and spider night.
DO NOT TRUST THE POSITIVE REVIEWS! The hotel has two different parts, one part is very expensive and nice but the other part (I.e. the one you are looking at now) is very dated and dirty. The review for Both parts seems to be mixed and that's why there are so many positive reviews. Bedbugs and dirt are given. We felt so itchy the whole night and when we woke up at the morning, wow! guess what! two giant spiders were having a party inside our room. One of the spiders was actually quite aggressive as it tried to attack me. Trust me your grindelward trip will be completely ruined by this. It is not worth ruining the precious trip by going to this hotel. The risk was too high! if you actually checked other reviews you will actually realise that many have been misled by the positive reviews of the better area. So DO NOY STAY IN THIS HOTEL! I have stayed in Switzerland for almost two weeks and this is the worst hotel I stayed throughout the entire trip. 1/10. the only good thing is the spa.

A lot to offer
Great location, on site parking, fantastic views. Only issue is rooms need updating. The hotel has a lot to offer with spa, restaurant, bar, cigar lounge etc.

We stayed in the apartment without room service. Room was old and kind of dim. Toilet a bit smelly from the first day of stay. Shower facility was not good and there was some degree of clogging of the bathtub drain. Up side: friendly front desk staffs

I was happy there
The room was big enough to accomodate my family of 3. The balcony with awning was great. We sit there and see sunset over mountains. My daughter loved bunk bed. 3 closets gave us sufficient space to store stuff for 3 nights and 4 days. Location of hotel was not bad (8 minutes from Grindelwald station, 5 minuts from Coop and First Cable car station). A lot of restaurants and shops are nearby.

3 bedroom apartment
Reception and staff were nice and friendly . 1st Time in Switzerland and they provided lotsa of information . Like it because it’s near to grindelwald train station . Booked for my family of 6 pax. The apartment is smaller then I expected and rooms and living room is rather cramp for 6 pax but works fine as most time we stayed out . Great views of the mountain !

First time in grindelwald
The hotel far, far exceeded our expectations. The staff was great, good location, awesome bars and restaurants with nice Swiss woodworking. Great workout area and spa. I would come back.

We had a lovely stay - returning after 15 years to the same hotel this time with our two children. The beauty of the hotel, its location and surroundings remain unspoilt. We stayed in a 2-bedroom chalet and were surprised as to how dated the furnishings - sofas and beds were. The living room also had very poor lighting which was rectified with some additional floor lamps when requested. Improvements with this would have made this an even more enjoyable trip. Would love to go back again!

Amazing experience in Grindelwald!
Review is for the 2 bedroom apartment, not the hotel. The Apartment occupies the entire top second floor of a separate Chalet. The interior is a bit old and dated. But it is very spacious and has all the comforts of home. The kitchen is a full-size European kitchen with stove top, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. It also has a large dining room table with room for 6 or more to sit and eat. There are two bedrooms with comfortable beds, one bathroom, a separate room for the washer and dryer, a large family room with TV and another dining table. There was more room than we could use for our family of four. The best part of the Chalet is the large balcony with direct and stunning views of the Eiger. We spent hours having happy hour and enjoying the incredible views. The chalet is behind the hotel and off the main road and is very quiet. There is a market virtually next door. Because we had a kitchen, we purchased groceries at the market and ate all breakfasts and dinners at the apartment. We also purchased food for daily picnic lunches. We also had use of the fitness center and spa in the hotel which was just steps away. Shops, train station, the lift to First and the Bachalpsee were all close and short walks away. Everything is easy to get to and to do. Grindelwald and the apartment at the Aparthotel Grindelwald were definitely the highlight of our 3 week vacation through Germany, France and Switzerland. We will be back!!

Good location with big snow mountain view
This is a 4-star hotel, with lots of building. The room is clean, and the size is good for 4. There is a big snow mountain view from the hotel. The hotel located just on the main street of Grindlewald, and about 5 minutes walk from the train stataion. The Barry's restaurant is good too. Overall we have a pleasant experience.

The "2 bedroom" apartment was in fact one bedroom and a double in the sitting room. No apology or rectification was made by reception, it was what is was. Room also smelt musty and needed a good airing. The room was clean, but the one small sofa was very stained. I'm not a fan of brown tiles in kitchens and bathrooms, a little update would improve the rooms considerably. Spa was very good. Location is good.

Nice and cozy place for a family
Stayed at the apartment hotel for 3-4 days with my wife, infant and my mom. Very comfortable apartment. Hotel staff was very friendly. Hotel has a separate play area for kids - my kid had a great time there. Sauna and Wellness Center pretty good as well.

Good location.
Apartments 'tired' looking and need updating. Poor lighting makes apartments dark and dingy. Bathroom and kitchen areas have not altered in decades, same as when we took our children 20 odd years ago.
