We loved walking down to the lodge for drinks and meals. The staff were all very friendly. We stayed in Cabin One and enjoyed the view of the lake and the wood burning stove. The table was big enough to play games. The bed very soft and squishy while we prefer a firmer mattress. The bathroom was from another era, but it was clean and typical of the North Shore. We would stay here again.

Quiet/tranquilie setting on lake Superior!! Clean, comfortable cabin with great linens. Room was a bit warm due to the weather being warm, but the two fans in the room took care of that!!

Great Stay

Love the vibe of the property - it's historic origins are still in place. Felt like going back in time but with modern amenities. Great location and nice hikes right from the property.

I loved the older charm of this lodge overlooking Lake Superior. The rooms do not have AC but the open windows and a fan were great with the eveningbreeze off of the lake was refreshing and made the room comfortable. The lodge had a great deck and common room to sit and relax. We parked right next to the lodge, had a wonderful meal in the restaurant next to the lodge and the room was neat and clean. The staff was very helpful with providing information to our questions. I highly recommend this as a great lodging option for the beauty of the North Shore.

Ok one night stay

I stayed in a Basecamp. It is also called Motel unit 5A. The room was small, especially bathroom was very small so that I had to move carefully otherwise I end up dropping towels or touching the toilet bowl. The room smelled a bit stale. The bed was clean and reasonably comfortable. There were only two light bulbs in the room and one light bulb in the bathroom. I would not stay in this Lodge again.

It’s a great property modern upgrades. The staff is very friendly. It’s a great location to do many things on the north shore of Minnesota. I’ve just seen upgrade in beds. Would be the only thing they would need to do. Would stay again.
