Great stay!
Great stay! Front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations. Breakfast was delicious and rooms very comfortable. Bit of a hike from central station with luggage but was a great location to get into all the important sites.

Staff were very helpful, Room was small but clean and adequate and we were fortunate to have a balcony. Breakfast buffet had something for all tastes, was well presented and clean.

Many of Gothenburg's major attractions, museums and galleries only a short walk away. Really good breakfast. Room was extremely quiet. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful Hotel
Hotel Poseidon was perfect for our stay in Gothenburg! The front desk and breakfast staff were so nice and great with recommendations. The room was clean and spacious, and the hotel was a great location to walk to everything we wanted to do. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Fantastic hotel
Really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a very grand building but modern and comfortable inside. Location was great, walking distance from the station and near to bus and tram stops. Restaurants and supermarkets also nearby. Room was much better than expected for an "economy double" and even had a balcony that caught the evening sun. Breakfast was excellent with a range of hot and cold options, freshly baked bread and a good coffee machine. Staff were lovely throughout. Fast WiFi and a system on the TV which made it easy to cast my own programs.

This is a classic Scandinavian hotel. Terrific friendly and helpful staff. Nice buffet breakfast. Spacious room. Older style, but very well maintained. Easy to walk everywhere and public transportation 50m away. Only issue for us was no refrigerator in the room, but there was ice available next to the elevator on the lobby floor. Stairs up to the lobby and breakfast downstairs with no lift down there. Really enjoyed the place nonetheless.

The Poseidon Hotel is a classic Scandinavian hotel with lovely, comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious Scandinavian breakfast buffet. The spaces are older but in very good repair. It is located in an area surrounded by beautiful old apartment buildings, practically next to lovely parks, but also short walking distance (5 minutes) from busy shopping streets and dining/drinking establishments of all kinds. Public transportation is all around and easy. Highly recommend. Only issues - no fridge and possibly parking (we didn't have a car).

Hotel was perfect for city centre access and public transport network. Room was clean but lacked any storage facilities. There were no drawers or wardrobe so clothes were just hanging in the room. All other items were left in suitcase which had to be constantly opened and closed. Staff were extremely helpful advising on anything that was asked.

The staff are amazing! It's an older hotel by definition but it has so much charm. I really loved the furniture and choices made in the rooms, it was really lovely. We only stayed for a night but quite enjoyed it. The included breakfast was really good! Definitely better than a lot of hotel buffets. Location is amazing, right on Avenyn. Really glad we stayed here and so thankful for the lovely staff.

Nicely Appointed and Maintained Local Hotel
I thought the Hotel Poseidon was very nice. The staff were lovely--both welcoming and helpful. The property was clean and very well-maintained. The rooms spacious, comfortable and generally well-appointed. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. And the location was very convenient for my purposes, which is to say within easy walking distance of the university, but also right across the river from the bustling city center. Is it the Ritz-Carlton? Does it have a pool and a spa and in-house gourmet restaurant? No. But it doesn't claim to be or to have any of those things. And if it did it would cost A LOT more per night than it does. Rather, it a very well-run local hotel which nicely combines the hallmarks of Swedish hospitality with all the amenities and characteristics of a well-run hotel that should meet or exceed the basic expectations of reasonable travelers visiting from anywhere in the world.

Great, centrally located hotel that’s filled with charm. Enjoyed the walkable location to all the areas! Two open items- there are a few bars close by, so some patrons were pretty loud Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Also, I wish they had more vegan/gluten-free options.

Lovely property with a great setting to explore. Near enough to the Main Street for restaurants and to explore. Far enough not to be in the noisy centre. Nice building and the rooms were nicely furnished. I would appreciate hot drinks in the room rather than the lobby but that’s a small element. Breakfast was excellent.

Very small room. Very uncomfortable bed. Zero in-room amenities. Still waiting to be reimbursed for being over-charged on parking. Under no circumstances would I recommend this hotel.

They had a nice breakfast. The room was way too hot and the fan provided was inadequate. The reason I booked the hotel was because they said they had parking available. The available parking was a lot the was a 10 min walk away. Not very convenient at all and 250sek per day to park. In the future I will stay elsewhere.
