Hotel Esplanade Zagreb

8/10 Good

"If you love a hotel with history but with all the modern amenities then this a fantastic choice. Using the app on the TV to order room service was great but no special requests could be made and also there is no phone to request the tray should be collected. The hotel is very well located. I personally thought 30 Euro's per day for parking was too high especially when sometimes the car was just parked outside the door. As a gold member who's entitled to a room upgrade I always find it quiet disappointing when I arrive at a hotel after checking availability 5 min before arrival to be told there is no available rooms. I didn't argue and was grateful to get the bottle of wine. Also we really needed the late check out which was the main reason I booked this hotel and sadly we didnt manage to get that. Lastly I would definitely stay again if I ever returned to Zagreb"

"Very clean rooms, quite decent breakfast though the orange and apple juice are actually tasting like soda, so I dont think there is much juice in there. Comfortable bedding and helpful staff. I needed an iron and they brought the iron and a board in 5 minutes."

Timeout Heritage Hotel Zagreb

"Reception is up on 2nd floor, no worries lift close at hand. Reception staff very friendly and I managed to get an early check-in, which is always good. For some rooms you have to go back down and cross the Garden Bar (doesn’t open until 5pm) and then take another lift to the floor. Room was a decent size. Decor, industrial. Comfy bed, good Aircon and I had a side view out over where the funicular runs. Bathroom very clean, tidy. Yes, the shower cubicle is a bit industrial too, but good water pressure and hot water, so no complaints. I was there mid-week, so didn’t notice any noise. Breakfast was great. The lady serving was very helpful. I got a selection of meats, cheese and omelette. Set me up for the day. Overall, it’s not the Hilton, but you’re not paying Hilton prices. As a short stay over, close walking distance to the sights etc, then you can’t go far wrong."

"We had a lovely 2 day/night stay here and we felt very well taken care of from the arranged taxi pick up at 1am, which ended up being 2am as the flight was delayed our driver Saša was welcoming and pleasant, a gentleman. Breakfast was lovely and tasty in the outdoor patio. The only thing that I would mention to perhaps tend to would be brighter lights in the hallways. Just a level up would be good if you want to keep the dim obviance. Everything was lovely and we are grateful for this experience."
