"From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how welcoming, hospitable, and genuinely friendly the staff were. Every interaction made me feel like a valued guest. The front desk team was especially helpful, taking the time to explain how to navigate the area and which buses and vans to use for getting around, which made exploring the city so much easier.
The breakfast was hands down the best we had during our entire stay. There was a great variety of delicious options, and it was the perfect way to start each day. The pool area was another highlight—the music, atmosphere, and overall vibe created a fun and relaxing experience.
I did experience one minor issue with my bathroom ceiling leaking. However, what stood out was how professionally and quickly the hotel handled the situation. Maintenance was contacted immediately, and the staff kept me informed throughout the process. Two managers personally came to my room to assess the issue and even offered to move me to another room. Since I was checking out the next morning, I declined the move, but they refunded part of my stay for the inconvenience and reassured me they would respond just as quickly if anything else occurred.
Overall, the outstanding customer service far outweighed the minor issue. The hotel's convenient location, close to nightlife, restaurants, and public transportation, made it an excellent choice. I highly recommend staying here and would gladly return in the future."
Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort
8/10 Good
"Wyndham Sam Lord’s has the potential to be a great hotel. The staff is excellent and the rooms are nice but there are some maintenance issues that you would not expect at a newer 5-star resort, the biggest of which is we NEVER had any hot water our entire stay. The entire hotel was without hot water and we had to take short cold showers. There are also things like fountains not working/being used, broken path lighting, broken doors, etc. that indicates they are struggling to maintain the property. We ate at Castle View and the Japanese restaurant and both were good. Food at the Mediterranean and Grill was also good. There is an Indian restaurant as well that we heard was good but did not eat at.
There is an accessible beach, but no swimming due to rough surf and sargassum (seaweed). Suggest renting a car or taking a taxi if you want a beach day. Crane and Miami Beach are within driving distance. We rented a car and hit up many attractions throughout the island.
We were celebrating our 25th anniversary from our honeymoon (which was at the old Sam Lords Castle). The hotel offers a good view of the old castle which is lit up in Barbados colors at night. The hotel went out of their way to make us feel special, with a welcome heart and card on our bed and delivering an anniversary dessert directly to our room during our stay. I feel the hotel could be a true 5-star experience with a bit more maintenance. The friendly staff makes up for a lot of the deficiencies."
"The 2 balconies overlooking the ocean were wonderful, comfortable chairs and hot tub. We spent many hours on the patio listening to the waves and watching the ships and locals swimming. Walking distance to Oistins was nice. Most of the staff was very friendly, Andreah, the bartender really made our stay special - he remembered our drinks, suggested cool things to do, see and eat. The air conditioner was very loud, the shower water temp was hard to control, the hallways and elevator need some updating and cleaning. Food was really good, especially the ala cart dinners, 4 stars."
Turtle Beach, a Tribute Portfolio™ All Inclusive Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful resort. You can tell it’s been remodeled and it’s nice to have nice new things. Barely full when we went but felt like we had the resort to ourselves and got plenty of attention and love. Not much entertainment but the right people and drinks kept us entertained."
"Hotel staff was nice and hotel was clean. They addressed any issues we may have had immediately. Most rooms are two twin beds. If looking for a king bed that is not to beds pushed together be specific about it. Room had a nice balcony view of the ocean where you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks. No direct beach access due to high tide. Great coffee spot across the street The Cake Lady. Harlequins is a fantastic option for dinner along with a few other near by spots. Take a nice walk to towards the right of the hotel an you will find Happy days for breakfast along with a beach nearby. Be ready because Friday and Saturday nights Sharkies across the street is full of festivities."
Waves Resort & Spa, Barbados, An Autograph Collection® All-Inclusive Resort
10/10 Excellent
"I loved my stay at Waves. It’s unlike other all inclusives that I have been at because it’s more small and feels more intimate. The staff is incredible and always helpful. There are water sports included in your stay too - highly recommend the water tubing! I would absolutely come again"
