Second stay in this hotel; comfy modern rooms (USB C!) and easy access to ev charging and major transport routes on our journey brought us back. Last time the breakfast wasn’t brilliant, it was school holidays and very busy, so breakfast area was cramped and options were lean; this time, there was plenty of choice, and as midweek holiday makers we missed early business traffic, so there were no queues for the coffee machines etc. Maybe they could put more staff on to help keep the dining area stocked and clear when it’s busy? It looks like there is some building work happening on site, maybe a larger dining space is in the works?!
We took an Uber into Ghent centre for a lovely meal at Du Progres, hotel was convenient and we felt could leave our car charging in safety.
1.5 hours by car to Le Shuttle. Ghent is nearly as pretty as Bruges, and as a lively university town it feels less touristy and full of hen/stag dos!
