Our booking confirmation stated that check-in was available from 2:00 PM. We arrived at 2:40 PM, but were told that the room was not yet cleaned and that we had to wait. When I asked why we couldn’t check in as indicated, one of the front desk staff responded impatiently and told us that check-in only starts at 3:00 PM, claiming the website was incorrect.
However, even at 3:00 PM, we still weren’t allowed to check in. Another staff member then explained that the rooms weren’t ready because there were many guests that day. This felt very frustrating. I believe the first staff member could have simply told us the truth—that the room wasn’t ready due to a high volume of guests—rather than making up an excuse. A sincere explanation would have been appreciated.
The whole check-in experience was quite disappointing, and I hope this can be improved in the future.
