Hotel Baker is as they say the gem within the gem that is Gaspé. Set on a hill facing the Gaspé bay, it offers a splendid view if you take a room on that side. The hôtel is modern, classy and very well kept. Rooms offer a lot of space. Everything is nice and confortable. On the same site, you will find a nice tavern (see below), a theater with a current playlist of movies and a small gym. Staff is accomodating and helpful; they’ve let me park my motorcycle right at the front of the lobby for the sake of its security.
The tavern, named Têtu, is nicely set also with a panoramic view on the bay and it is confortable. You will find a pretty good selection of wine and liquors, and a reasonnable list of beers. The menu makes a wink at a number of staples of french canadian popular dishes, like the hot chicken, however with a touch that upgrades the experience. On the downside, I would recommand the tavern to hire staff with more experience in customer service, as many of the employees are cold and distant when waiting tables, but they do know on how to let us wait on them.
