舒适的社区环境
非常好找，整个酒店旁就有一个社区运动场地，晚上还有不少年轻人在这里踢球滑滑板，清晨漫步于周边步道非常惬意，值得推荐！早餐也是很完美，吃得非常满意，睡得也非常安稳

The George is very convenient being located in the centre of Frome, particularly with its secure parking at the rear. We only stayed for one night and was allocated room 3 which is quite a trek from the reception area. Checking in was very smooth and we were greeted cheerfully with clear details required for our stay. The ground floor bar area and restaurant have clearly had a refurb and was had a very pleasant atmosphere. Room 3 had everything we needed but in places, particularly the bathroom , it was a bit tired and clearly had not had any refurb on it for some time. The shower was adequate but is in need of some attention to the shower head and connections. Having said that there was plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. We had booked an evening meal which was of a very good standard with a wide choice. I particularly liked the curry. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of cooked options. The staff were very cheerfull and helpfull at all times and very professional in their approach. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would, should we be in the area again, gladly stay there again.

Nice central place to stay. Staff lovely and food good too. Bus to Bath outside. Only negative was stairs to bedrooms. Slight drawback if you have knee problems.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. The parking (albeit a bit tight to get into) was easy and really secure. The bar and restaurant were both lovely and the food was of a good standard. Negatives: Our room (above the bar) was noisy both from the bar and from the busy road. Secondary glazing has been fitted which must help a bit. The street lights flooded the room all night ... perhaps black out blinds might be worth considering? The room was comfortable and had everything we needed but could maybe have done with a bit of a attention eg paintwork. All that said we would be happy to return when back in the area!

Excellent, central location. Character property. Comfortable bed. Very clean linen and towels. Lovely toiletries. Difficult to navigate if you struggle with stairs. Be aware of parking restrictions if you park overnight in the large car park on a Friday night.

Interesting, old coaching? inn. Good breakfast and being asked whether I had allergies. Missed out on a car park space, because we cjecked in at 18.00 and had to park in a paying public car park 5 minutes walk away. We needed to have been advised to check in early. The large number of stairs were not a problem for usd this time but would be in the future. It was extremely irritating to have to complete a survey to access the internet. Thew first question made no sense to us, so we didn't proceed with the survey. That meant that we could not facetime our daughter.

excellent service from all the staff we encountered - friendly and efficient - room was clean and warm with lots of supplies in the bathroom and lots of drinks including a large refillable glass bottle of water - location is perfect for pub tour before an event at the cheese and grain - highly recommend

We had a nice size room, bed was very comfy. Bathroom was a nice size, there was paint peeling off in bathroom but that did bother us. Unfortunately as we were facing the town Center it was very noisy at night. So didn’t get much sleep.

We were made welcome and the dog was made a fuss of! Evening meal and breakfast very nice and room comfortable with all you need. Very good location for Cheese and Grain. Would definitely stay again

Overnight at the George Hotel
We wasn't there long enough to give a thorough review as we had come to see a concert at the Cheese and Grain. The room was a bit basic with old furniture but was clean with comfortable beds. There were a few bodge jobs in the bathroom. I don't get why anyone thought it was necessary to try and fit 2 toilet roll holders, but one fell off as my friend brushed passed going to the loo. Breakfast was edible but could of done with a better sausage. Other than that it is ideal if your planning to visit the Cheese and Grain and need somewhere to stay overnight.

Third time of staying at The George as its our go to place when attending events at The Cheese and Grain and have no complaints at all. Room had everything needed, warm, clean and the bed was comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning. Look forward to our next visit.

Good points: Staff are likeable and helpful. Short walk to the Cheese and Grain. Breakfast nice. Bad Points: Check in is at the bar. When I arrived the bar was very busy so a long wait to even get to the bar to check in. Car park was full so had to park in nearby pay and display. Batteries in TV remote were flat so unable to use TV. Quilt cover spattered with dried blood. Plumbing very noisy. You'll wake up if a neighbour flushes during the night. Had to stand on a chair to close window in bedroom.

October 4 night midweek stay
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu strict could take items off but not replace or add. Whilst hotel was 'clean' it requires updating eg carpets, furniture, plaster work, shower, toilet seat and more importantly the sash windows in the bedrooms to ensure some level of sound proofing. Hotel on a very busy street surrounded by shops and bus stops so very, very noisy all through the night. Bedrooms at back of hotel may be quieter.

Enjoyed our stay in rooms 4 and 5. Nice and quiet as not on main rd. Staff lovely and good breakfast choice. Our only problem was in both rooms when we wanted to shower in morning, no hot water. We were only staying one night so not to much of a problem as going back home that morning but if you were there longer could be a problem.

Lovely stay at the George, the bathroom in our room could have done with a lick of paint but it didn’t impede our stay, bedroom was spacious with good tea and coffee facilities. Lovely staff and great breakfast. Will stay again

Fabulous find
I fully enjoyed my stay here. Welcome was warm nd informative, room large with plenty of amenities - tea, coffee, biscuits etc as well as shampoo, shower gel etc in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Will absolutely stay here again if in the area and don't hesitate to recommend to others.
