I booked this hotel because it was rated 8.4/10, but it's 6-7/10 at best. The hotel pictures do not match the true condition of the hotel...it looks nicer than it is. Our room had, no phone, the lamp was on the floor, the remote was dirty, and the bathroom amenities were limited. There was also no hair dryer. The continental breakfast was basic, nothing special, and the coffee was horrible! I wanted to check out immediately upon arrival and go to another hotel. The staff was great and it looks like a family run business. But you get what you pay for so if you're looking for cheap, this is your hotel.

The Casco Bay Inn is currently undergoing some renovation, but this doesn't detract from accessibility or services. The staff is friendly and helpful. Across the street is a brew pub with a light fare menu. A bit further down Rt 1 is a great custard stand; approx. 1/8 mile. This location is modestly priced and conveniently located to Freeport.

If I knew the hotel was under renovation I would not have booked it, plus their version of breakfast was not what is normal in most hotels. Cold cereal and bagels with mini muffins. Hard boiled eggs that who know how long they were there for.. Definitely not what we were expecting.

We got there early and there was only one car in the hotel. Asked if we could check in early and was told by a man that was mopping that the hotel was completely full and we had to come back at 4:00. Got back at 4:00 and still looked closed. Only one same car in parking lot. Did not feel safe and cancelled the reservation.

No elevator, so I was given a first floor room. Solo female traveler. No ability to dead bolt the door- there appeared holes from a previous dead bolt, but removed. Room was so hot when I arrived! Bed was soft.

The Casco Bay Inn is a nice hotel. It is a former Wyndham property now privately owned, but well maintained. There were some ceiling tiles missing in our hallway, but otherwise the property was clean and well maintained. They lock the lobby doors at 10pm and this is a hotel, not a motel, so I felt safe. Room was clean with an excellent bed. No frills, but the shower was strong with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a good assortment of bread items including muffins, plus fruit (apples, oranges, bananas) and three types of cereal. The coffee was not very good though. Very convenient location near US1 and the Freeport/LL Bean shopping area. This is a great value hotel. Probably a notch below the Spring Hill near-by, but half the price. I would stay here again.
