"In November 2023 my wife Samantha and I embarked on a 4 month tour of South America travelling through 5 different countries. "Pousada Costa Verde was a nice stay on Ilha Grande. It was very clean and well maintained (though this is because of very strict rules, so if you're intent is to party, this is not the spot for you). The manager is super nice and provides a lot of great advice based on your expectations of your trip. The pousada is off the beaten path and does not come with breakfast like other pousadas on the mainland do."

"Absolutely amazing stay! Such a convenient location, only a 5min walk from the main town, and there were a couple of restaurant bars right next door. The property is right on the beach and they give you chairs and things if you want them. Staff were super friendly. "Extremely peaceful and idyllic place. The room was clean and looked new. The bed was comfy. Only downside was that the room was quite small and it was missing some functional additions (e.g hanger where to hang the towels). Also it would have been very helpful to have more detailed direction where to go. Once the boat dropped us off, there were no signs which way to go. It was a small walk in the jungle but first time quite confusing. "

"I read reviews about this property that helped me to choose it, big mistake. Whoever highly rated this place probably doesn't know better, very basic. You feel like you're in someone's house as opposed in a pousada. There's definitely better options for the cost of it. The overnight guy was very nice but one ladie in the day time was rough, from my room I could hear they talking on their phone, loud. Never again 😒. "

"Perhaps the best hotel at Ilha Grande. Located away from Abrao. 5 min by hotel boat taxi, cost 20 BRL (4 USD) during the day hours and 40 BRL (8 USD) when it is dark, i.e. after 6pm. "beach front hotel, literally the dining room is 3 meters fromthe beach. Lots of restaurants and ahops nearby and 5 minute walk from the Abrao pier. The swimming pool was closed due to renovations. "Campsite has a very chill and relaxing atmosphere. Probably the cleanest campsite we have ever visited. Facilities are great and everything in the kitchen works fine. Staff is very helpful and speak okay English. We were allowed to store our luggage from checkout until our boat left in the evening. The tours that the hostel recommend is a bit expensive though."

"First, on the day we arrived, that night we had to change rooms because the bath tub was leaking water all over the bathroom floor. Also, the toilet lid was broken, the air conditioning had a loud noise and wasn’t cooling property. On the second room, the same happened with the air conditioning. The hotel was poorly staffed and several times, the excuse was: “right now, we have no concierge or hostess or bellboy”. Also I speak for languages fluently (spanish, english, italian and french) and many times we had to wait for the staff to find someone that spoke one of those languages. The last night, we had to go to bed without having dinner because we ordered room service and they said that food would arrive in 15mins. One hour passed and I called to see the status of our order and the person said that he couldn’t comply with out order because he couldn’t prepare the food because the kitchen was getting maintenance. If I hadn’t called no one would have let us know. It was a time to relax and enjoy as a couple in a luxury resort but it felt more like a resort that is about to close or go bankrupt. So sad to see such a beautiful place give their clients that poor customer service. "
