"The property is excellent in many ways. However, the staff are exceptional. Our flight out of the Faroe Islands was cancelled and the person at the Lobby went out of their way to arrange for the airline to pay for an extra night at the Hafnia (which was much better for us), arrange for three free meals at the hotel, and then even called our taxis to reschedule pick up for the next day. And even though check in is normally after 3 PM, the person was able to get us into our rooms right away for the extra night so that we could relax. We never asked for any of this, they just took the initiative and made it happen. It definitely took the sting out of having our flights cancelled.
My only recommendation is that they have at least a small menu available for hotel guest late into the evening (especially on Fridays and Saturdays). Also, there are a lot more places open late on Saturdays in the areas than the hotel is aware of, so perhaps they could keep a more up to date record of these where you can eat "after hours.""
"Wonderful hotel! Friendly helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Very clean, safe, quiet, fantastic views & near the city centre & bus terminal. Would highly recommend 💚"
"Our stay at the Havgrim Seaside Hotel was fabulous. Great view. Beautiful room. Convenient.
The bathroom situation was a bit awkward unless you are very comfortable with your room mate. There was a clear glass door which meant there was no privacy. "
"The basement apartment is well located. It is clean and well equipped - communication from the booking organisation is good and clear.
The local bakery and convenience store are fantastic and will provide well for your stay.
The only drawback we found is that one of the bedrooms that was configured as the main room for our stay has the plant room (heating boiler) for the whole building with door access to it. Whilst the system does not run all the time - we chose to let my deaf mum stay in that room and we stayed in the other room as I know that the noise would keep me up. On the plus side the room is cosy. "
"A lovely place to stay in Torshavn.
Pros:
- Lots of living space
- Clean and tidy
- Central location - easy walk into Torshavn
- Lovely modern bathroom
- Well equipped (down to the details of food bags and tin foil for packed lunches)
Cons:
- No instructions were provided to find the key box to gain access to the property (we had the code but took us about 10 minutes in the rain to find the keybox)
- No blinds/curtains in the bathroom so had to makeshift one out of a shopping bag
- No dedicated parking (on street parking was 2 hours only between 9am and 6pm - was fine for us as we were out most of the day)
- Shower drain needed clearing - shower flooded on first use
- Very small bedrooms (but not a problem given the ample living space)
- There was only one breakfast bowl (that we could find)"
