While the building is a bit dated, the room itself was updated (not the shower) and very clean. Kitchen had all the amenities and was also very clean. You could hear the TV in the adjoining room but was not super loud. I would stay again….

Another great stay at the Flamingo!

Wonderful stay over Christmas break! We had stayed here one night in the past, never for a full week and were happily surprised they had updated the furniture recently. It had some kitchen basics but would have preferred a full size coffee maker (it was a small 3-4 cup one) and a few cutting boards and oven pans (there weren't any). We appreciated they had extra blankets and sheets in the closet to use on the hide a bed for the kids. Excellent location on the quiet canal and only a two block walk to the beach.

Great vacation apartment in Fort Myers Beach

Very comfortable and very private vacation apartment in a secluded spot on a bayside canal. Easy walking distance to FMB gulf beach, where you can enjoy a swim at sunset with pelicans skimming the water nearby. Local nature preserves are within a short drive. We had a great time!

The general manager is very rude and not willing to help; not at all nice and racist. The dirty place and a lot of noise at night from drunk men. The place stinks of cigarettes and the carpets in the room are super dirty. The general smell of the room very unpleasant. I do not recommend this place at all.

This place is great! The photos make it questionable but honestly the place is perfect for the vacation I took. The beach access closest to here is better then the main drag part so make sure to check that out!

Simple efficiency unit, quiet and tidy, on canal, across the road from great beach, off street parking at unit. But in somewhat worn condition, patio door basically inoperable, water from fridge on floor, wall AC cycles every 5 minutes. A bit of maintenance attention would go a long way.

I liked the easily accessible, 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach, the ability to use beach chairs, the comfortable king bed and the good sized bathroom. It was fun to sit on the porch and watch the bird activity in the canal. I didn’t like the rickety stairs/rails (we had an upstairs unit), or the dirty windows and messed up blinds, and the insect in the kitchen. I wasn’t expecting luxury accommodations due to the affordability of this property. If you aren’t going to spend a lot of time in the unit, it’s fine. Close to/walking distance to trolley stop, 7-11, CVS, Charley’s Boathouse Restaurant, The Outrigger deck and Tiki Bar, Fish Tails Marina, and a strip mall with breakfast choice.

Perfect weekend

We had an amazing stay for a long weekend. The bay just outside our front door had excellent fishing, a manatee and even a small shark that darted around a few times a day. A small walk on a solid path through the sand to the wide open beach. Will definitely stay here again!

Fort Meyers Beach

Location great. There was chips and such under the pull out couch and hair in the shower. The owner fixed everything that needed attention like the two ceiling fans that did not work and the slow draining shower. It is dated.

The Flamingo Inn Bayside suites is located on the bayside of Fort Myers Beach. It is a small, privately owned and operated hotel with great customer service and is centrally located. This hotel, along with the entire beach area, has that old Florida charm in terms of construction and design. The surrounding area still retains much of its local charm with the only nationally known stores that we saw were the Publix supermarket, 7-11, and hooters that were all fairly close to the hotel. The 7-11 is walking distance from the hotel at just one block to the south. From the bayside, crossing Estero Blvd is all that is needed to cross over to the beach side. Not a long walk at all and we did so in about two minutes. A short drive north on Estero Blvd and you will find a shops area with a pier and some great local dining options. The room we stayed in was one of their deluxe/upgraded rooms, which is essentially a one bedroom/ one bath apartment. It has a full size kitchen, which came in handy for making breakfast in the morning. The flat screen TV with Xfinity cable was a nice perk, which the kids enjoyed. The room was a nice size and the bed/linens were clean. Going back to my comment about old Florida charm, while the rooms due share an central AC unit, you will most likely rely on the window hanging AC units to keep the room cool and comfortable. We are from South Florida, so we are accustomed to heat and humidity that our area brings. Over all we really enjoyed our stay.

Parking very tight. We were never given internet password. The bathroom door warped and not close. I TV in the master bedroom. Cleaning staff didn’t come till after 4 in afternoon, about time we wanted to shower and get ready to go out dinner.
