Property’s manager was excellent Expedia booked double bed and we clearly asked for a twin Manager was able to change rooms Boat weir was incredible to watch in action Boat cruise well worth it Due to the weather being on our side Definitely would stay there again
Above all expectations. Views wonderful, room well appointed, clean, fresh and comfortable.
Perfect for a short stay, if you’re there exploring what the area has to offer.
There was literally No human interaction Face 2 Face innentire stay but to be fair.. it worked qnd worked well..
Its a smallest town possible..and area has just countable stores..food options and bars.. but to be fair again...enough for q pleasant and comfortable stay.
Just loved the way boat movements through 5 stages to ocean and back is mqnaged ..simply an engineering matvel powered by common sense...
.
People and surrounding is worth soending atleast an evening here.
I booked 48 hours before and I was concerned how I would gain entry.
It went smoothly when we asked the local pub what we were to do.
We loved our stay. The beds were comfortable and the room was immaculate.
We would reccommend the place.
Really enjoyed our stay. Martin was very responsive and made things easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the property well maintained.
If I were to suggest anything to make the stay better in the future, it would be thicker, more substantial pillows.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with views directly over the canal. Bathroom was well equipped with a fantastic shower. Free car park for residents and also a cafe downstairs.
This place is magical and so much nicer than what we imagined or were lead to believe by the advertising. This hotel is right on the alive Ness canal as it enters lake Koch was and right outside the hotel are boats and ships traversing the canals, it was magical!
Lovely clean , well appointed room. Looked like had been recently decorated/ created as everything brand new. Ideally situated in heart of Fort Augustus - right in the canal side- parking to rear if property - well laid out - spot on
Great place for tourists, many pubs and restaurants around. The place is recently refurbished, all is new. It's a bit noisy, but hey, it's a tourist place. All and all, for a short stay it's definitely worth it.
We stayed one night whilst walking the Great Glen Way. The room was clean and comfortable. Well located right next to the Caledonian Canal. The only minor issue was that options for breakfast in the area were limited until 9am.
Nice cozy room. Not really a hotel, but easy to access with given code for the key lock. Perfect location at the south end of Loch Ness with some nice pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
New clean and modern room. Very nice washroom. Excellent view of the canal.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
You have to walk past a long line of open garbage bins to get to the back door entry to the hotel.
There is an excellent restaurant for breakfast right downstairs. Opens at 9am though which seems rather late for early risers.
The room was newly decorated and all of the contents looked new. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. We hadnt realised that it was a collection of rooms rather than a hotel and we drove round a couple of times before finding the entrance and where to park.
We felt it was overpriced but we had a comfortable stay.
The accomodation was very good great central location and the bedrooms that we stayed in on the back of the building were nice and quiet. Beds super comfortable.
Our only gripe would be the on site manager was quite aggressive. There was a fault with one of the rooms key card locks which meant we couldn't access until a locksmith sorted it. It was eventually sorted but could have been handled much better by him.
There is no host on site and if you want to reach them use phone or text, neither of these options worked for me. I requested a twin room and got a double bed instead, awkward to say the least.
the location is good, the room was clean. The host, which I called with assistance of my host and their phone at the previous location, was close to rude but did give me brief access information to use later in the day. Which I appreciated.
Area is nice but a tourist spot that sees a lot of traffic without the infrastructure to support it. The hotel is clean and decent for a nights stay but the person in charge is rude. He was rude about the check in process which is not listed in the booking. He was inconvenienced when we asked for a second towel for the room when only one was provided. The room also did not provide more than one packet of coffee when the room is setup for two guests. No local stores open before 8am so there is no other options for getting coffee before then.
Great location and comfortable beds. Great shower. Host was curt. Not hospitable at all. Website and Expedia said breakfast option for full Scottish breakfast for a fee from 7:30-9:30 was not an option. The host acted like we were stupid when we asked for it. There is a restaurant below the rooms that you can order off the menu, but not until 9:00. Very misleading. We had 2 rooms reserved. One room only had 1 drinking glass with no way to get another. There was no housekeeping or a way to replenish towels and tea/coffee as mentioned on website.
The view out our window was lovely as we could watch boats go through the locks. Walking distance to everywhere in town.
Location and surrounding amenities are fabulous! The food in the Lock Inn was superb.
No communication around who and where we had to be to check in. Managed to find a random cafe worker who was cleaning and he told us the code to the room key and where we could park. He was helpful to be fair to him. We then spent a lovely evening having a few drinks and enjoying an evening cruise of Loch Ness which was FAB.
The rooms are basically a conversion of the shop loft space so not much head room. No hotel contact info or local emergency needs etc. there is no fire escape info of any kind in the rooms, it’s all very dodgy tbh.
With no one to speak to about things and it was late so we tried to get some sleep except at 1am the fire alarm control panel kept us up all night with a high pitch beeping every 5 seconds!!!! As there was a fault with the alarm. Various other guests kept trying to silence his alarm which set the full fire alarms off on at least two occasions.
My wife went to sleep on the car for a bit due to the torture of the beeping. Again, still no one to contact about this at all.
We left the room as soon as the sun was up at 6am.
