Almost very good

The hotel was in good condition and tastefully decorated. The overall effect was however spoiled by the old and shabby pictures hung on all the walls. They looked as if they were picked up as a job lot at an auction and just looked cheap and nasty. Breakfast service and food was very good despite the rather unusual requirement to order your choice the night before. Service overall was very good. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Very disappointing.

Hotel was just not that comfortable despite a friendly welcome. The hotel was cold, including the room, staff were often just not anywhere to be seen, no hot food and very limited cold food option. Was clear they had no kitchen staff. Very few guests and just generally very disappointing. Would not return by choice.

Very helpful staff. Lovely big room but plumbing needs a bit of attention to work more efficiently. Enjoyed the food on the only evening we were able to eat in because of current staff shortages.

Had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. Service was first class. Dinner menus changed each day and meals were of high quality. Hotel was well situated to access attractions in the area. Highly recommended.

Lovely quiet hotel

Peaceful and quiet hotel. Our room was large and nicely furnished. The bed was so comfortable and we had a great night sleep. We were visiting friends in Forres, so didn't get to eat at the hotel, but the little beergarden looked so inviting. Only downside for us was the early breakfast (last order 9.15am) as we would have liked a longer lie in.

Wonderful stay near Forres

Warm welcome from Kate started our stay well; the room was spacious and comfortable; towels beautifully fluffy! Breakfast was excellent and overall we thoroughly recommend Knockomie.

Great location. Friendly staff. I would say my room needs updating, especially the bathroom and I found the proofing was poor. Could hear the TV and walking around of the people above me

The accommodations were beautiful and the restaurant/bar was convenient after a long day of castle-hopping! Staff was wonderful and responsive. The only thing I would recommend would be the addition of some type of guest laundry services, but otherwise I have only good things to say about this hotel. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff

Comfortable stay. Nice starters in the restaurant with one rather unfortunate main course which is probably unusual. The staff responded appropriately by not charging for the choice, offering a replacement and providing a glass of beer after hearing of my concerns.

Pros. Big spacious room, nice shower, food was great, WiFi and onsite parking. Cons. No bottled water in room and the mattress was uncomfortable.
