The host met us on our arrival and was very welcoming. Our room was very comfortable and roomy and in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend!!
A solid place within a 15 minute walk in a safe clean neighborhood a little bit north the Duomo.
It’s a great location just inside the ZTL so it’s better to park outside of it in a nearby parking garage, which was super helpful.
Good price exactly
Room is spacious. Property is near some nice restaurants and easily accessible to the tram within 3min walk. Convenient to travel to the main attractions. There are a few stairs before the elevator, but still mangeable.
There were only two bath towels provided. No wash clothes or hand towels provided. No shampoo or body wash provided. Other than these small omissions, the place met expectations. All communications were via email and WhatsApp but the exchanges were helpful. Access to the room requires a phone that can be used in Italy.
We stayed at Giuseppe’s property for one night as a stopover before our next destination, and overall we had a good experience.
The room was very clean, the location was amazing, and we really appreciated the complimentary bottle of Prosecco, which was a lovely touch. Giuseppe also kindly let us check-out later and stored our luggage free of charge which allowed us to stay a few more hours in Florence and check out the local monuments before our departure.
The only downside was that the air conditioning was not working properly. It was functioning, but not cooling the room enough. This is not ideal, specially during this time of the year.
These things can happen, and what stood out to us was Giuseppe’s hospitality and willingness to assist. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future thanks to the excellent location and Giuseppe’s willingness to do what's right.
Despite receiving confirmation of our stay following the booking process, we received a message the night before our stay at the Five Suites saying we must pay our tourist tax before arrival - our confirmation clearly stating that this tax should be paid at the property (presumably on arrival). Further, the message said that we would receive instructions on how to pay, which were not forthcoming! I called Expedia that evening to complain and spoke to a young man, but he was unable to get hold of anyone at the property. I confirmed that we were very unhappy with the way the property had treated us, which was exacerbated by the fact that my husband's wallet had been stolen the previous day at Pisa railway station - so we no longer had the credit card we we used to pay for this accommodation. We also gathered from the property's message that access into our room would be remote, whereas we had understood from the confirmation that there would be someone present to take the Tourist Tax. With the tone of their message we decided we had no option but to find alternative accommodation, so I will be asking my credit card company not to pay the accommodation cost (for a 2 night stay at this property). We were extremely distressed at the time, and very disappointed with Expedia, so I doubt we will use your services again.
