The employees are really nice and helpful! But the rooms need to be worked on. We got a suite where the bathroom had this Oder that we could not sleep at night!!
But overall had a good time.
A horror story, pls avoid: Disgusting bathroom, soiled bathmat, bathtub that has a hollow support, sad-looking thin bath towels, no cleaning service, dingy lighting, no hot water, the list goes on. This riad also gave us the wrong room the first night, and owner did not apologize or see a need to compensate us for the inconvenience. Very puzzled by the good rating. We recommend a no for this riad. In contrast to owner, staff tried to be helpful by packing a breakfast for our early check out and bringing suitcases down - which was thoughtful.
Great little hotel/riad. Staff was super helpful. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The hotel reflects old and new Morocco. Great place!

This design, location and service at this riad are fantastic. The decoration of the place is beautiful, it is on one of the entrances to the medina, and the people who run it are great.
Highly recommended!
Our stay at Riad La Perle De La Médina began with a few logistical challenges upon arrival and some issues during our stay. These were addressed directly with both the property and Expedia, and we appreciate the efforts made to resolve them. With that behind us, we feel it’s more meaningful to focus on the individuals and aspects that truly shaped our experience.
What stood out most was the dedication of the manager, Omar. Once aware of our concerns, he went well beyond what should reasonably be expected of one person—consistently checking in, listening attentively, and doing everything within his control to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. His professionalism, care, and genuine desire to make things right had a meaningful impact on our time there.
It was clear that Omar was often compensating for broader operational gaps, and his efforts deserve strong recognition and institutional support. With improved systems and additional support in place, his commitment and capability could be even more effectively realized.
Another highlight of the riad is its excellent proximity to the Medina, which greatly enhanced our visit and made exploring Fes both easy and enjoyable.
While our stay had its challenges, Omar’s dedication and the riad’s location near the Medina were significant positives. His hard work did not go unnoticed and is sincerely appreciated.
The Riad is beautiful and extremely well managed. The staff is very friendly and try to help you avoiding scams from outside merchants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in Fez. The location is central but has a nearby parking.

Riad was overbooked. They placed us in a "sister" riad that was not as luxurious (3 stars vs 4 stars). They offered to comp us dinner but we had other plans. They did offer us 2 30-minute massages. Overall disappointed. I would not recommend.
The property lists free parking as an included benefit, but has no such parking to offer. When I asked where to park my vehicle I was told to find a place on the street. That is not free parking. Despite an empty hotel, I was given a room on the fourth floor of a hotel with no elevator, which felt unhelpful. The building is a gem, which is worth seeing as an example of local and period architecture. It is difficult to find and should probably come with arrival instructions.
This is an absolutely beautiful property with a lot of charm and exquisite details. The rooms are clean and comfortable with views of the gorgeous indoor atrium. Breakfast is delicious. And the property is located within walking distance of the shops (though it is a maze to walk through so you should get a guide). the staff is very friendly and helpful, though this is not a 24/7 type of place. The property manager is only available during business hours and there is no easy way to find help if you need it. That said, the staff knocks themselves out to be very helpful and treat you like family and I think they keep their eyes out to see if you need help.
The two challenges with this property are (1) getting to it. If you try to come using a red cab, those cabs cannot enter this area of Fes. you will need a private car or another type of taxi service to get you to the property. also, GPS gets mixed up in this area and may direct you to a different property which looks adjacent the but the streets are a maze and it can be difficult. Best to contact the property to get guidance on arrival and departure. and (2) there is no elevator. there are narrow stairs to get to rooms. But the staff help you with your bags. Just tough if you have bad knees. Other than those two details, this property is well worth finding and staying in! Architecture and friendliness you may never experience anywhere else.
Charmant Riad. Attention: pas d'accès direct en voiture. Conditions particulières dans mons cas en période de COVID: J'étais le seul client mais le service était toujours maintenu. Accueil pas vraiment francophone sur place mais on s'en sort...
Our waiter was much more than just that. Ayoub took excellent care of us and the breakfasts on the roof were great. We Riad picked us up at the train station. The Riad location is good and we were able to get our bearings pretty fast. Beautiful place and very clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful reception desk. Highly recommended, good choice for Fez.
Totally amazing. Younes is fantastic. The photos do not do the hotel justice. The location is easy and convenient, and the architecture of the hotel is magnificent
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Riad La Perle de la Medina. Younes was great, our holiday would not have been the same without him.
We stayed in room 'Fez'. The hotel and rooms were super clean. Our room was very spacious.
I definitely would stay in this Riad again when I am next in Fez.
It was amazing! The hotel and our room was so beautiful! We liked it so much, we extended our stay 1 additional night. The staff is also amazing! They were very helpful and always did the extra step! They were incredible!
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were pleasant and kept the place clean; great if you don't require a lot of directions, and are mostly self-sufficient. This is not a 4-star hotel by western standard but don't pass on it based on mere ratings. Hotel is also tucked away in part of the medina's many alleys so make sure you remember your path in order to get back. We had no problem and it's short walk (subjective - if you are one of those that drive everywhere you go and use hop on/off tour buses, then the walk can be a bit more than you're used to - but still walkable, I think) from the main medina area, shops and the Blue Gate.
Very good hotel and staff. Especially Kerim. We were greeted with traditional Morroccan tea and bisquits. Loved the atmosphere, and the feel of this traditional styled hotel.
Such a magnificent Riad, my jaw dropped as I entered. I stayed in one of the large suites overlooking the courtyard and felt like a queen, I recommend staying in the suites as a treat to yourself. The service was also wonderful and from where the taxi dropped me off, it was easy to find on my own as there is good signage and it's only a short walk to find it. Dinner and breakfast is served on the rooftop and the dinner was absolutely delicious, I struggled to find a nice restaurant in Fez so it just made life easier in that respect.
I do recommend taking a guide with you through Fez, the Riad can arrange one for you. I found it difficult to explore on my own, it's easy to get lost and I got a lot of hassle.
Definitely recommend this Riad, it was the best part of my stay in Fez.
Nuit très agréable dans un superbe Ryad rénové avec goût. Un vrai plaisir pour les yeux. SM

Ok hotel in Fez
Having stayed at several Ryads along Morrocco this one was the one we liked the least. All is good but it lacks that personal touch and attention to detail. The rooms lack privacy and are dark. One day for breakfast they served us had eggs that were spoiled. Not worth the money you pay.
