We enjoyed a lovely quiet couple's getaway while we went to the Ed Sheeran concert in Ipswich. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very quiet and relaxing. The town centre is in walking distance and has some really nice and reasonably priced cafes. There is a short walk to a pebble beach and beautiful gardens.

I’ve broken our stay down into bullet points; - Good Room. Spacious with TV, kettle, towels, fan! Shower gels and lotions. - Comfy beds! - Room was a good temperature - clean on the most part bar some carpet stains but that’s expected. - A little odor in the room but nothing too serious - Staff were friendly! - Breakfast was good- £10.95 per person for all you can eat buffet with good variety of food (full english, yoghurts, cereal, pastry etc) The food quality wasn’t the best however it was Great value for money! - The biggest issue we had was the bathroom. The toilet had a temperamental flush and the shower pressure was shocking. The shower came off the wall a few times too with water temperature difficult to get right. - Overall the stay was good! Great staff who were accommodating and good facilities bar the bathroom.

Check-in was easy (despite having completed online form beforehand). Room comfortable although bed mattress was far too soft for my liking.

Loved this old hotel. Staff great, public areas surprisingly grand, in good nick and very comfortable. Top of high street & short walk to beach. Nothing to complain about.

The property was undergoing a refurbishment during our visit so I can see that there will be improvements to the decor in the future, the room I stayed in 125 was in great condition and seemed to be one of the newer rooms, there was no evening dining on site during our stay due to kitchen refitting, we were provided with plates and cutlery for our takeaway, the staff were always attentive and helpful during our stay so I would return to the hotel in the future if in the area and would like to see the hotel after the refurbishment.

The bedroom had been refurbished. Very comfortable. The bathroom was very dated. The shower in particular was very slow. The staff were very helpful. The common areas were in the process being upgraded.

Unfortunately the room I was given was long overdue a refurb - torn curtain, stains, mould, cracks, peeling paint... The list goes on. The hotel itself and downstairs décor was lovely, however, so maybe I was just unlucky.

This hotel is going extensive refurbishment. Could not have dinner as the kitchen was being re-eqiped. Excellent public rooms. Friendly staff who did everything they could to make your stay enjoyable. Hotel has an older part and a more modern extension. I had a large double room in the original part of the hotel. No central hearing but there was an efficient stand alone heater. Bathroom had a radiator. The room was bright and airy and was well furnished. No traffic noise. Would definitely stay again.
