Castle Manor Inn

"The room was clean, but small. The shower was super tiny, but I knew this was an old building, so I didn't expect huge open spaces. The decor was cute, and the breakfast options were good. There was an issue with the electricity in my room the first night. Only 2 outlets worked, the one in the bathroom, and the one that the air conditioner was plugged into. It wasn't a huge deal. I was able to get an extension cord so I could plug in my electronics. I checked in later, so I did bring it up with the front desk. They tried to switch breakers and check plugs, but were unable to fix it. They did have electricians out the next morning that took care of the issue. The staff was very friendly, and was genuinely apologetic for the electricity issue. That being said, I kinda feel like the amount of extension cords they use around the place are a fire hazard, but that is only my opinion. Both of the parking lots were fine. The area was a little bit sketchy around dark for a single traveler, but I never felt in danger. There were several bars around, so that may have fed into it, as well is a food pantry across the street. It seems there are a lot of un-housed people in that area, but I had no issues, or felt unsafe."

Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Boston - Peabody by IHG

"none of the plug-ins in the room worked you could not turn on the lamps. I had to ask for towels every day on a six day stay no one came and got the dirty towels or brought us clean ones. No one changed the bed sheets. I personally called this facility to make sure they had a heated indoor pool. They suggest it’s heated indoor pool got there three days later and the pool heater was broke and no one said anything about it to me when I called it was one of the main reasons we picked this motel. needless to say not very happy with our state at this facility."

"The rooms were very large the heat and the air conditioner worked great so did the shower but I got charged $100 security fee that I was not expecting!!! Not cool!!! And then they gave it right back without even inspecting the room what sense does that make?? But we'll be back..."

The Northshore Hotel - Boston/Danvers

2/10 Terrible

"I was here for a total of one hour. This is not a hotel, it's a motel with a major highway right next to it. The room smelled bad, my TV didn't work, and the sheets didn't fit the bed. The bed was also really low to the ground as it consisted of a wood platform with one mattress on it. I was on the first floor and people above me were walking around so much and that's all I could hear. I will never stay here. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!"
