One can also take the 7.5km walking path- Erskine River track to Lorne along the river passing Splitter falls and Straw falls

Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was central and very convenient for what I needed while in Melbourne. Room was quite functional for storage and layout. Overall I was happy with my stay. Being from North America I could not believe there was no ice available. In general the room was clean but the shower could use a real thorough deep clean because tiles and faucets had mold/mildew. My bathroom sink was not draining properly from my arrival and even though I reported it and apparently a service request was submitted it wasn’t fixed until the morning I was checking out. Also the TV remote wasn’t working and took some assistance from the manager to get a second type to be able to change channels. Couldn’t make outgoing calls from room phone and quite a few times when I tried calling reception with questions no one was available.

The steps really are very tiring coming back up. I saw multiple families carrying their small children because they gave up. Just be aware, you may have to take a few stops to rest and you will feel it the next day.
