The hotel, staff, breakfast, bathroom and bedroom were all very good. The poor rating is because it's impossible to get a decent sleep! The stairs up to my room and a cluster of other rooms are made of wood, so when one group of guests came home at 1:05am, I'm woken up just by their footsteps clomping ...

A very nice place for a short vacation all with first class castle and cathedral, great restaurants and paticeries. Just lovely
Staying in and visiting Erice was like going back in time. It was like a setting in 'Game of Thrones.' Try to avoid the hoard of daytime buses and stay overnight. The atmosphere totally changes in the starlight.
Be sure to visit the park area around the castle. We picked up deli items and had a picnic with breath-taking vistas all around us.
Mornings and evenings are magical once the tour buses have left.
There are many, many beautiful churches in this city set high on a mountain top. You can easily spend a day visiting them and walking around the Medieval city. The food is good, especially the pastries, which the city is famous for.
