"1) Checkin details were not provided - I had to contact Hotels.com and wait ±1hr outside in the windy street to get these. Checkin was 4pm but I couldnt get in until 90 mins later. 2) Once inside the building; Entrance hall filthy with full black bags in corner, wall staining, filthy carpets, laundry cages strewn. No-one around at all, felt very unsafe. 3) Once inside the flat, it felt like someone had just left in a rush, but I couldnt be sure until I had gone through the apartment. Spooky....

"Property was okay, there was staining around shower basin seals and rust where the toilet brush etc had not been replaced in a LONG time. Glad I brought my own kitchen utensils with me as everything at the property was damaged. Couldn’t even leave a fresh dish sponge for a new stay so questioned how clean the place actually was. "We booked this property as the picture on website looked nice. It said we would share bathroom only with people in our party, this was booked as non-refundable. We only book properties with en-suite usually but as said it would only be shared with our party. Once booking came through I checked the postcode and found that the property was down a private road which you could not view on google maps. "We enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Gonville. The hotel was excellent in every respect- beautiful decor, great restaurants and convenient parking. However, the outstanding aspect of the hotel was the wonderful staff. Every person we dealt with from the receptionists, to the barmen, to the housekeeper delivered perfect customer service. I’d especially like to thank Dante (?) the receptionist for taking care of us. Highly recommend The Gonville, Cambridge!"
